Shelley Ware has plenty of profile and from everything I’ve ever seen or heard is a lovely, thoughtful person. I felt a bit uncomfortable with the celebration of Clarke being at the game, even though I understand that he has only just started the job, it was the natural place for him to be given the status of the women’s program at our club, and he didn’t ask to be singled out for attention. I can only imagine that for an indigenous woman it came across worse, and don’t blame her for reacting without her usual thoughtfulness.

Would have been good if Shelley had declared she's got a pretty serious interest here from what I've heard re advising the families.

Why shouldnt she be accountable for it?

Thanks for the info Hearts to hearts - I don't know her at all. But I am not sure about the 'celebration' tag. I didn't see all the game but the cross I did see of Clarko was him sitting in the crowd. How does that become a celebration? Is there something I missed?

Beautifully articulated H2H.

If you are unfamiliar with Shelley Ware, consider the entrenched nature of the “old boys network” in AFL coverage as a starting point. More Ware, less Cornes etc & we all might be in a better place.

Yeah three seconds of screen time, probably about to equivalent of time viney was on tv at the Richmond game a few weeks back. Hardly a celebration

I agree H2H. It was the ‘Look who it is!’ tweet from 7AFL that didn’t sit right with me given what is going on. Felt dismissive of the seriousness of the allegations.

Not Clarko’s fault and the Ware tweet probably not right, but it is understandable.

Well yes, which was what she reacted to - all the sensitivity we’d expect from channel 7. And she got a lot of reaction to her comment, some reasonable and some less so, for anyone wondering about accountability.

Still don't know who she is. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Do you buy those twitting machines from the eBay thingo? Seems to me like they’re nowt but trouble in any case 🤷‍♂️🤔

I’ve always just assumed Twitter is the home of s**t takes. If you aren’t tweeting s**t takes you’re doing it wrong.

It's only gonna get worse now Elon has taken it back to the early 1900's.
