cut the losses and move on.

Sure, Clarko and co could now sue for damages, but do they really want this to drag out for another couple of years?

Anyone really invested in the story has now got a fair idea of the ‘holes’ in key allegations, so I’m not sure the reputational damage to key figures is really an issue going forward. Yes the financial and emotional toll for all involved to this point can’t be ignored, but a legal process and compo rarely in truth makes up for that. Looking forward is usually the only remedy.

Clear air for 2025 will be welcomed by all.

I hope Clarko’s lawyers filed the writ this morning … I mean the link to Russell Jackson’s original ‘story’ was still attached to the bottom of the ABCs (very brief) story on the resolution FFS, not withstanding the differences in that story and the claim the ‘we never asked for money’ claimants filed in the Federal Court.

Hawthorn were not the club that suffered the most from this whole mess.

You can say whatever you like about the way Andrews handled the pandemic but the way he fronted up to the media every single day for months on end, obviously backed by his media team, was unmatched anywhere in the world.

And so he bloody well should have considering everything; and then fended everything off with a straight bat for months on end
