Maybe just me but who the * is that reporter to speak to anyone like that? Spoke to him like a teacher to a misbehaving student. A condescending teacher from a s**t school stuck in 1950.

Honestly don't know how these coaches and players keep their nerve. The reporter was unprofessional in his delivery. I'd back Clarkson to give him the "your time will come" treatment.

We can't be too precious. Reporters have the right to ask any question and imo it is a fair enough question and he didn't handle it well.

He should have just said I am human and human make mistakes and all you can do is strive to be better and control your emotions, it is difficult when you have lived a large part of your life feeding on emotions and there is the good and bad when it comes to that. We have undertaken some new things so we are trying, but there are never any guarantees in life... other than death.

It wasn't the right thing to do, but it is not like he biffed someone.

I disagree mate. I don't it's the reporters job to manage or pass judgement on another person's conduct. It was phrased badly and my own grievance with Alastair was not going double or nothing and clocking him.

It’s like he outed himself as the class doofus with that opening question.

I think some people in the media might try and push his buttons to see if he cracks under pressure.

It is all just distraction really, he just needs to get the team winning games so there is something he can tell people to focus on instead of his drama.

Bit like Mark Stevens used to do with I think it was Bevo?

And yeah, Caro in the offseason set up the narrative that he's angry and unstable and the club execs are worried about him, so now every gutterscum journo is going to be using that lens and pushing for that to be the story.

Good thing about journos is it’s an access based profession, be an arse now, pay later when they try and get interviews on gf day.
His time will come

Well, no, not really, they don't.

Going to a press conference with the sole aim of provoking the person making themselves available is deeply unprofessional.

In fact, unless there's a good public interest reason otherwise, a presser like this should be basically on topic - next week's game v GWS etc

Asking one question is fine being a condescending dickhead after the first question has been answered is not.
The club should really be calling out this rubbish and media outlets absolutely lying for the purpose of clickbait and all to the detriment of Clarkson. And when someone has a mental health issue (as Clarko has in the past) they'll play the sympathetic card completely ignoring the role they've played with their rubbish (purely for $$) in an individuals mental state.

It was Malthouse, because he was Seven's sports guy he got the first question at the post match presser and it seemed his MO was to piss off Mick… he certainly succeeded.

With his human rights commission meeting coming up I assume he’s got a fair bit on his plate with lawyers prepping and probing him. Hopefully the whole thing gets resolved quickly - its just another thing that directs his energies away from doing what we need him doing - coaching.

Nah don't think it works like that

I have no issue with the question either and surely Clarko would have been expecting it. I have no issue with Clarko’s response either. It was done to death last week and followed up woth a media release. My issue is the way Fox Footy portrayed his response as ‘fiery’. That was pathetic.

Said it before, Clarko can’t go mouthing off at opposition players. He needs some self control. End of story.

"Alastair, in your opinion which action would piss you off more?.. slipping on soap in the shower or stacking a BMX, resulting in missed games of footy?.."

Media have a clear agenda to drive Clarko out of the game. It's serseriously pathetic.
They are driving me out of the game too
Would usually watch up to half the games or part of, didn’t watch one last weekend
Didn’t watch any footy shows
North’s continual struggles obv a factor but the targeting of Clarko is over the top
Find most games boring contested grinds anyway
Still buying my family membership and will always do

yeah and just look what happened when Bevo gave it back to the media!

The whole entire media can actually get ****ed tbh
not fiery at all. Give those media sycophants a ban, ZERO access to Clarko or senior officials,,,,,next presser, roll out Hamish Free,,,,,"Sorry Clarko got tied up flossing his teeth, I'm happy to answer some questions"

Funnily enough, I listened to quite a good piece on the radio on Monday that Gonzo journalism is now the norm.
