I think it's time the AFL starting coming down hard on coaches who behave like Clarkson did today. What sort of message is being sent to young footy supporters watching a senior coach punch a hole in a wall in a fit of anger. Very ordinary stuff Clarkson. Then goes into the presser laughing and making a joke of it. I for one don't find this sort of behaviour funny from a bloke who is a role model to thousands. I'll be interested to see how the AFL handle this one.

Ch. 7 went out their way to highlight it, complicit and perhaps more responsibility lies with them.

reasonable to expect Clarkson wouldn't carry on like that outside the confines of the coaches box (um, and the players bench), as it is his passion can be partially excused due to the culture of the sport, but agree it isn't a good look when we see it replayed a dozen times

You can't just crack down on this out of the blue, coaches have been going nuts for ever, throwing phones, breaking windows, punching fans in the face etc.

So where do you set the limit for this action the op wants taken? What can you do and what cant you and what are the punishments for these offenses ?

Not a great look but had the wall no broken it would have not even been shown.

Plus having punched the odd wall myself I can say the pain experienced later on is punishment enough.

would've been a non issue if it weren't for it being shown over and over by channel 7

same with the ben cousins camera incident, it was only shown because they decided to repeatedly show it despite the fact it wasn't shown live

I loved it. I want to see passion from everyone at the club.

The fact that we were winning at the time made it that much better.

Leave parenting to the parents, not the AFL.

i see nothing wrong with what he did, just venting like every other coach does, its funny to watch but at the same time good to see the emotions of coaches.
But maybe he should pay for or fix the wall lol

What an absolute load. Are you a 90 year old grandmother? This is an emotional game and he had every right to be angry after the two mistakes Hawthorn made towards the end of that first quarter. Man up.

The bloke needs anger management classes. Started in 1987 when he king hit Ian Aiken .
