Couldn’t see us getting much for him compo wise.
We would be lucky to get anything even in a trade.

Good question. I don't think so.
What's your views on aish?A compo pick in the late 40s will hand us 300 or so draft points... handy in a year where we might go into points deficit if we decide to match high bids on draft Quaynor and Kelly.
What's your views on aish?
I disagree with the majority on here and think his not much chop.
Speaking of chops...
Knob....lolI'll save it for the Aish thread sometime...
we get compensation only if we don’t bring anyone in, nothing if we do eg Lynch. We cannot trade a contracted player if he does not want to go, even if we want to.Funny the blowback when I wrote a few days ago that given he's only been selected once in 2019 that the coach didn't rate Fas anymore, and that he'd be somewhere else in 2019...
The Age then writes that he's going to Carlton for more opportunities, and now everyone is writing his Collingwood obituary.
IMO this all was evident from as early as around round 5 or so onwards when they were giving games to Crocker over Fas.
What I didn't foresee when i was critical of the club for not trading him out last year, was that we'd get any sort of compensation pick for him if he left as a full free agent.
Wherever he goes, I wish him luck (except when he plays us)
That 300 points would basically be the difference between our 2nd Round pick & Sydney 3rd round pick.A compo pick in the late 40s will hand us 300 or so draft points... handy in a year where we might go into points deficit if we decide to match high bids on draft Quaynor and Kelly.
That is a shocking tradeThat 300 points would basically be the difference between our 2nd Round pick & Sydney 3rd round pick.
We get the points back, so we indirectly traded Murray for Fasolo??
Murray's OK if he can vastly improve his kicking but it's a big IF.That 300 points would basically be the difference between our 2nd Round pick & Sydney 3rd round pick.

I feel sorry for Fasolo.
Battle away manfully these past 2 seasons playing for a bottom eight side and one with serious forward transition problems.
And yet he still produced the most productive seasons of his career to date and was one of our best goal kickers.
Fast forward to this season and he was made to jump through more hoops than plenty of others have been in the past to get a senior opportunity and when it finally came he was injured at the start of the second quarter.
He may not be in our best 22 anymore but in reality he has never received a proper opportunity either so his true worth remains an unknown within this improved team.
Not surprised he is looking for more opportunity elsewhere and I just hope we aren't silly enough to contemplate moving Elliott on also based on one good year of football from other personnel.
Funny the blowback when I wrote a few days ago that given he's only been selected once in 2019 that the coach didn't rate Fas anymore, and that he'd be somewhere else in 2019...

The blowback was purely because your assumptions were poor, ignoring his injury issues.
If the club had a frank conversation with him last year about his prospects in 2019 of playing senior footy e.g. that Crocker was ahead of him now in the pecking order.... then Fas may well have requested a trade.
Anyhow, if we manage to land a compo pick then that complaint becomes redundant.
If you go through the posts that time I acknowledged his shoulder op in December. But a shoulder op in Dec doesn't justify not being picked in April, May. Bloke could still run. And how many players with leg injuries this year.... who couldn't run as much during their rehab... like Moore, De Goey, Varcoe, Wells, etc... and you can probably in the future add PCL tear Aish, hamstring Aplleby and double hammy Treloar to that list as they are likely to play seniors again after very few VFL games.
These players play very little VFL before seniors... because the coach wants them in the senior side! Yet we are supposed to justify Fasolo not playing before rd 9 (and probably not playing for the rest of 2018) because he had a shoulder op in Dec...
Maybe at the time the club still had faz ahead Crocker, and still had him playing a major role in our forward line. How many thought that Stephenson would play every game and be as good as he is at this stage of his career. Things changeIf the club had a frank conversation with him last year about his prospects in 2019 of playing senior footy e.g. that Crocker was ahead of him now in the pecking order.... then Fas may well have requested a trade.

What a time to be alive. A player can have Crocker ahead of them in the pecking order, and yet still have trade caché.If the club had a frank conversation with him last year about his prospects in 2019 of playing senior footy e.g. that Crocker was ahead of him now in the pecking order.... then Fas may well have requested a trade.
You also didn't see any games he played this year pre injury. What's your views on aish?

Yeh, nah****in just play him this ****in weekend
