But has been reviewed quite favourably on metacritic overall. A few 8's and 9's.

I quickly skimmed through the IGN review and these quotes stood out;

"And in hindsight, playing on Hard difficulty – which I only did because Isolation actually describes it as “the recommended way to experience the game” – was a terrible decision."

"I’d be curious to know how many of its roughly 15-20 hours I spent hiding in lockers, staring at the motion tracker, and, most of all, how many hundreds (yes, hundreds) of times I died without a chance to save myself."

Maybe there is something in the gameplay that makes it annoying, or the fact that he was biting off more than he could chew playing on hard and his score is a reflection of his frustration.

If there's one thing i gathered from the reviews is at least the game is shit loads better than Colonial Marines.

Just purchased it at the local Kmart....don't finish work until 10pm but at least it will be dark and everyone else will be asleep 8)

This game is an absolute campaigner.

It's programmed to make you DIE randomly with no ****ing chance of surviving. It pisses me off.

Sounds like a great true horror survival game

Im hearing its one of the greatest horror survival games since Silent Hill 2, I refuse to buy aliens games, but it's tempting me

It is.

However, simply walking through doors and being killed instantly, is ridiculous. If you're crouching, it stills hears you and makes it virtually impossible to get anywhere without the thing being on your ass the whole. I've also found the Alien appearing is completely random - it's frustrating.

I'm playing on hard, which I probably shouldn't be because I'm not the best stealth gamer and I'm finding the game extremely challenging. If you want a game to scare the **** out of you and have you looking over your shoulder, then this is it.

For example, I just got past an area where I had to click a few buttons on a terminal and it took me four times as long as it should have, because I was paranoid about the Alien.

I definitely recommend this game to SH players.

ill prob pick it up when its on sale or get it for Xmas. there are a lot of games coming out now/soon and dont want to spend $70 on a game that frustrates me because i keep getting killed. Sounds good but like it can be the same and a chore if you keep getting killed every few mins.
