Tom Lynch 19.5 and 17 goals
Steve Johnson 21 and 18 goals
Bruest 15 and 17 goals
Motlop 22 and 13 goals

He is in the mix and would be in the squad. Lynch and Johnson should be ahead of him. Normally they'd pick an on baller on the other flank so you would think only one genuine half forward spot would be up for grabs.

23 and 17 goals?????

What's the forward line look like... can you fit Franklin, Waite, Lynch and Riewoldt into the same team? Maybe cheat Riewoldt onto the wing or something.
Wouldn't be cheating to put Riewoldt on the wing because I would suggest that that is where he has lined up more than anywhere else so far this season. It's definitely where he was playing most of the time when McCartin was in the side and he lined up there numerous times last week against North, as well. Matty Lloyd just named him on the wing in his rolling AA team on TSFS and when questioned on it, he said that Nick had only spent 23% of his time inside the forward 50 so far for the year.

Roo would be looking at his 6th AA jumper this year.

He's just a freak.
Really interesting to hear them say that his knee issue is pretty much a thing of the past. Was getting it drained every week or two after games for years, but apparently hasn't had to do so for the last 12-14 games, as they reckon whatever was causing the swelling has "burnt out", or whatever.

If he manages to avoid the concussions for the remainder of his career and his knee issues don't return, he might have another 2-3 more years in him without much trouble.

Another dominant display across HBFs from docherty & Simpson

Cripps is a lock for RR

Ed Curnow is the best run with player in the league

Murphy & Gibbs big chances to be included in the mids

Ben Jacobs is better at shutting down players.

Murphy wouldn't be in the squad of 40.

Gibbs and Cripps would be borderline in the squad with so many mids to chose from but Simpson on Docherty would have to be locks for the squad. Have both been ridiculously good this year. While I'm not saying they should both be in the side they would be very very close.

Best chance for Carlton at the moment is Cripps, Docherty or Simpson.

Cripps is leading or top 2 in clearances and contested possessions league-wide. If he sustains this, he'd be terribly unlucky to miss as a rover.

Heath Shaw and Simpson are the best flankers in the game at the moment.

Docherty is not far behind at all.

Naitanui doesn't play the whole game - Lycett rucks for 30%-40% of the game. Goldy was the clear best ruck in the league last year and North were only 9th for clearances.

Naitanui has probably been the best ruck so far this year in my opinion, but that's because I rate Nic's hitout-to-advantage influence more than Gawn's around the ground possession influence. Neither of them have played a game as bad as Goldy's on the weekend.
Gawn v the dogs was similar to Goldy.
