It's just people realizing that a surprisingly important element of being a good defender is being able to defend. Which Dale Morris does superbly
No haha someone else had 'steven morris' so i thought people putting 'morris' as steven morris for a gag. 100% dale morris is deserving at this point in the year.

Yeah. Named in the 'bests' for our games against Sydney and Saints (2nd BOG for North for both of these games).
Did you throw these games in because you went back, looked, and found yourself a bit thin on material for the argument?

Maybe at least try making an effort to read the match reports next time dork.

To be fair no matter what he was named he turned the ball over a lot in that game and was one of the reasons your midfield got smashed. That was not a good game. You realise we do actually watch north games on occasion, well when they get the Friday night football and there isn't another game to watch.

best game i can remember steven playing on the weekend, don't let the 25 and 3 goals put you off. Something like 14 score involvements, 9 tackles, 10 inside fifties, and a ton of metres gained. Just ran and ran, constantly breaking lines and finishing beautifully at 84% DE

Never thought he could be our captain post roo, but he played a fine captain's game yesterday

Anyone seen much of Jack Steven this year? About time he got some recognition. Not only for this year either. He's a jet. Would have to be in contention right now. He's game yesterday was yet again outstanding.
What makes Steven even more impressive is the fact he gets tagged every other week. All these other mids have also been impressive but you won't often see most of them get a consistent tag. Steven does because he doesn't have other damaging midfield mates and yet he just keeps working the tagger over. That's more impressive than a player in a deep midfield getting in the best most weeks.

Right now, he has to be in or very close.

Thought he was pretty quiet for the first quarter and a half. He was massive after that though, especially in the third quarter

I thought he was better in his 40 disposal game a few weeks ago, as he used his speed exceptionally well that day and it was 40 damaging disposals, but yesterday's was a totally mint one as well. He's getting right back to his 2013 pre-injuries best.

Really looking forward to seeing what he's like when he has more support in there in the years to come and we're playing in bigger matches.

had to break a tag and was getting a lot of attention from the carlton mids off the ball, only had 9 touches to half time, but they were still quality. long passes deep into the fifty resulting in goals. Also had 762 metres gained for the match, and most of those would have started from around the centre, rather than say a back flanker kicking it out to the wing to loose players.

fair enough. I think that with his own 3 goals, and the amount of goals generated from his passes, he was more damaging where it mattered.

Was he seriously named in the bests against Sydney?

That was an awful game from him, every time he got the ball just threw it on the boot and seemed to kick to a Swans defender, never had any time to dispose of it and was smashed by the Sydney mids...

When it comes to JZ north fans tend not to judge him one the ball has left his boot. It's Petrie/Waite/Brown's fault for not marking his hacked kick straight to an opposition player. JZ can't fail, JZ can only be failed by his teammates.

I like this team. Maybe Neale and Gibbs in for Riewoldt and Zorko.

Can say the same about Shuey with WC fans (and yes it matters, because the original cat I responded to was making comparisons to Shuey being the bees knees)...Was virtually unsighted during the PF last year on Jacobs. Got a couple of the worst free kicks of the year go his way along with his 12 touches or whatever, and suddenly he was Carey the second coming...bog according to some WC fans.

That's one game, and most eagles fans, the sane ones anyway, will say he was well held but was still able to influence the game positively.

Not sure how that equates to kicking around the corner blindly 5-10 times a game, every game

Think the time is rapidly approaching when Nathan Wilson gets a gig on a half back flank. He's always had speed and raw ability. This year he's more of a physical presence and he will back himself to run around opponents

Just opening your eyes my friend. It's relevant because your argument suggests that North fans are delusional about their players. When quite clearly WC are just as bad with Shuey.

Most have JZ in the team. It's a few dopey eagle supporters that are living in 2013 and can't see how good he has been in 2016. Put the Eagle posters on ignore and this thread is more enjoyable. Hard to educate those that don't understand the game.
