Just out of interest, will Morris ever be put onto Petrie in this game? It's a lot easier to "never get beaten by an opponent" when you don't have to play on the guy who could have easily kicked 5 or 6 to half time with a little more accuracy.

Is this usually the role he plays?

Petrie has 7 CM and 11 Kg on him. Why would we play Morris on him when that is what Williams and Markovic are in the side to do.

Depends on the player as to his role. Morris can play on the smalls such as Betts and the athletic talls such as Riewoldt and do very well on both.

Honestly your post doesn't give you the image of a bloke who has a great understanding of the game. Perhaps you haven't seen a lot of the dogs... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Was getting ready to say Goodes should be at least on par with Petrie but it looks like Petrie dominated today. Still think he has been underrated this year but Petrie probably just shading him at this stage.

Bolton was ok, O'Keefe nothing special. Griffen was shit, but has been good most of the year. Didn't really notice Boyd. Morris was on Goodes for a while, so probably not one of his best either.

Dal Santo the buzz player at the moment and is closing fast. Has been very good since about R10. Thompson was good again, Johncock and Rutten games to forget.

I'd have Petrie ahead of Goodes still, but Goodes is closing in on him.

I didn't think Bolton had a very good game. He was ok, as you said, but only ok at best.
Im starting to think Griffen is injured. He isn't moving as well as he has been this year. Apart from his pretty crappy game, he had 12 tackles, which was the most for anyone in the whole game.
Boyd was shit.
Morris was good for the lack of help he was getting, but not one of his better games.

I would still think Dal Santo would be behind most of the midfielders touted as AA. He has been good sine round 10, as you said, but has had a fair few quiet games.
Thompson was good again, and Rutten did ok, certainly not the worst. Johncock was bad.

Walker should definitely be on the list. People have claimed he's done nothing against the top teams but that's BS. Sure, he's had massive games against poor teams but he's kicked 2 goals or more in 13 of 17 games, which is an excellent return for a mid-tall. One of those 4 he only played a quarter as sub.

Collingwood: 0 goals (subbed off), 3 goals
Geelong: 2 goals
West Coast: 0 goals
Sydney: 2 goals, 2 goals
St Kilda: 2 goals (including match winner)
Essendon: 0 goals (sub), 4 goals
Melbourne: 2 goals
Bulldogs: 1 goal (and crook)
Richmond: 2 goals, 4 goals
Adelaide: 4 goals
Brisbane: 5 goals
Gold Coast: 5 goals
Port: 6 goals

Compared to Kennedy:
Collingwood: 3 goals
Geelong: 1 goal
Carlton: 2 goals
Hawthorn: 4 goals
Sydney: 1 goal
Fremantle: 3 goals
St Kilda: 1 goal
Essendon: 2 goals
North: 1 goal
Melbourne: 2 goals
Bulldogs: 10 goals
Adelaide: 1 goal
Gold Coase: 4 goals
Port: 3 goals

Walker averages 0.2 goals less a game + 2 more touches. Not sure what more he has to do to be considered a top 50 player, considering he's on target for 60 goals for the season.

Davis would have to be very, very close now to the 22, another dominant display 30+ dispoals at a very high efficency while smashing all opponents. Back pocket may be his if the form continues to seasons end.

Luke Ball, is still a bit of AA but has been playing really well should be considered and definately in the squad.

Swan again, although against a weaker team tore them to shreds, is moving past many mids would be borderline in the team for mine at the moment.

Reid, Pendlebury, Cloke, Thomas although his corkie all appear likely to make it at the moment.

from the other game, i gathered Judd and murphy dominated again, Walker pressing claims but sits comfortably behind Cloke, Franklin and Petrie. its him vs kennedy vs Reiwoldt for the 4th best forward.

Scotland is another who played well, improving his chances.

Murphy looked like he was going to have a so-so day after his first half, but at the start of the third found some cheap ball got the confidence going and didn't look back. Could of had 3 goals but tried to gift Betts his 9th

I was thinking about that the other night. Him and Dal Santo are sneaking up on the midfield group.

Ade: Thompson
Car: Judd, Murphy
Col: Ball, Pendlebury, Thomas, Swan
Geel: Kelly, Corey
GC: Ablett
Haw: Mitchell
Nth: Swallow, Wells
Rich: Cotchin
Stk: Dal Santo
Syd: Bolton, O'Keefe
WC: Priddis
WB: Boyd, Griffen

Top 20 mids for the year? As always I might have forgotten someone.

Simon Black? might be the one you forgot.

Another BOG for Simon Black today, he has probably had 6 this year. Averaging 27 possessions in a struggling team has just been outstanding. Would think he is surely in the best dozen midfielders this year, if his form continues he would be stiff to be miss out. His consistency has been outstanding this year.

I think he would come ahead of Scott Thompson, Luke Ball, Joel Corey, James Kelly, Dan Wells, Trent Cotchin, Jude Bolton & Matt Priddis. I'd personally also have him in front of Scott Pendlebury, Ryan Griffen, Matthew Boyd and going close with Andrew Swallow. The class of when he gets the ball has been as good as anyone this year.

Don't think he would be a starter but surely he would be on the bench at minimum.

I'm sorry but I don't think Leon is an all australian the way Collingwood's backline plays I don't think you can have him as an all australian. I seen an All Australian as someone who is invaluable to his team and has performed all year. Many players could fill that role of Leon and do just as well.

Leon is very underrated at his 1/1 strength. He isn't simply a loose man in defence who plays a kick behind the play, he has sliced & diced Jetta, Gartlett, Betts, L Thomas, LeCras, Varcoe & many more.

He hasn't been beaten once this year. A very ignorant post by a Carlton supporter, he rendered Gartlett useless last week & then went forward & did the same to Yarran & exposed his defensive skills.

Oops, meant to post in the Top 50 thread. Has had a very good season and wouldn't be out of place in the 22, though definitely not a monty for it.

See told ya people:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Seemed to perform that role against your mob last week pretty well lol:eek:

HAHA Davis let Garlett have 4 shots on goal, 3 hit the post

Hardly slice and dice. More like he got lucky

More like Davis played on him in the 1st half and he barely got near it, then Davis went forward and had 10 touches, kicked a goal and had 2 assists to put the game to bed while Garlett failed to take his chanced when let off the leash.

Any love for Nathan Bock as an AA? He was very very good on Cloke last night and was isolated in several 1v1 contests that Cloke has been dominating most of the year and either won them, or prevented a Cloke mark.

Long list of KPD's, but he could be a squad member.

Haven't done one all year, what do you all think of this?

B: Scarlett Glass Davis
HB: Scotland McPharlin Fisher
C: Thomas Mitchell Pendlebury
HF: Fyfe Cloke Murphy
F: Swan Franklin Petrie
R: Cox Judd Ablett
I/C: Dal Santo, Wells, Goldstein, Goodes

Goodes I suspect will be a questioned selection but he has been the most consistent Swan this year IMO (with ROK just behind) and has been brilliant. Not as good as the Bulldogs game every week, but a very high level swapping between CHF and the middle. Gets underrated by most IMO, Swans fans in particular who take his brilliance for granted.

Really struggled with the FP's. Walker and Garlett I considered. As well as Johnson and Le Cras but Swan deserved his spot somewhere in the side so shifted him there.

Defence was tough to pick. Glass has been the best FB all year for me so he had to be there. Scarlett picks himself, as did Fisher and McPharlin. Reid very unlucky. Deledio and Johncock the only rebounders competing with Scotland and Davis IMO.

Davis wasn't on LeCras either. Your just throwing in names there. Davis' opponents haven't actually played badly against him, they've been hurting him the other way. But Davis' impact going the other way probably outweighs it either way. The form he is in should probably see him in the AA side.

Looks good but Goodes and Wells won't get into the AA side. Bit stiff on leaving Birchall out as well who should almost be a guaranteed selection atm :thumbsu:
