Surely going to have to win its way in - can't seeing it being the type of horse to attract a Wildcard
There are 5 wildcards. One goes to the Futurity winner, another to the Blamey winner and 3 others. As a dual G1 winner, who ran an excellent G1 second on the weekend he has claims for a wildcard. Who would be your 3 at this stage?

Two time handicap G1 winner

I'd give it to Alizee, Scales of Justice (if they want it) and then either Regal Power / Dalasan / Mandela Effect (for state diversity).

Knowing the power Oz Bloodstock have one of their donkeys will probably get in too

What?
I’m sorry but that is absolutely ludicrous to suggest Dalasan and Mandela Effect are more worthy of a wildcard than Fierce Impact

He’ll get a wildcard

You didn't read the bit in brackets did you

Even the other two mentioned, Alizee and Scales, are less worthY than FI
Alizee a poor mile record and Scales beaten by FI (who was only FUP) last start as hot favourite at WFA !!

Lol wut? you want to leave out two G1 WFA winners for a handicapper?

Go home T-Bell - your drunk

FI is the last type of horse who deserves a wildcard - isn't an interesting story and there are better horses who deserve to get in ahead of him.

True handicapper is BGTYM. FI while not bona fide WFA isn't just a handicapper. He won twice to prove he is better than just a handicapper. 2nd to Kolding at WFA. Beat SOJ and co on weekend comprehensicelty. Wont be a WFA star but will fit in nicely in the current WFA ranks. On the back off the Orr you would have to give him some sort of chance - more than Alizee and SOJ. Id prefer a spot in the field to go to who is better now, not who was better in the past.

If you're winning G1 HCP's like the Cantala with 5kg above minimum from near last, you're a WFA horse. There isn't some magic aura of a WFA horse they're just a few kg's better or a length or so better than G2 horses. A handicapper isn't a horse that wins handicaps it's one that gets in on minimum and wins ONE. WFA horses can even lose HCPs, only the good ones can win carrying weight.

I'm not sure why it took so long for this horse and whether it will be quickly forgotten or he will continue on with it like we saw on the weekend but he's as good a horse to put into this as I can see off exposed form in that last 6 months.

Only 4 horses outside the top 10 have a higher OHR too. SOJ, BHB, Avilius and Alizee.

disagree! Super Impose was a true handicapper and won Doncasters and Epsoms giving weight to Shaftsbury Avenue every time. Yet he could never beat Shaftsbury avenue at WFA because those races are just run differently. Super Impose did win some WFA races and won a Cox Plate by default but he was a true handicapper. Handicaps tend to have bigger fields so are faster run. WFA races tend to go to the ones with the best sprint.

Both Alizee and SOJ will beat him home comfortably if they contest the ASM - thankfully he won't be in there clogging up the field.

"tend to be" but still Cox Plates run at genuine tempo nearly every time. Yeah handicaps seems a little faster but provide the same circumstances to the same field and the better horse at the weight will always win regardless if HCP or WFA.

Exactly and I mentioned two of those 4 and threw in some others for state diversity - thanks for agreeing with me. :thumbsu:

He would add zero to the story of the race - there are a dime a dozen horses like FI. KWD deserves a spot over him for starters and he is another I wouldn't have in.

FI is this years Best Of Days - don't remember too many clamoring to have him in last year.

He can win his way in if he wants but I doubt he will get getting a WC

KWD has beaten your best WFA horse of Australia at WFA the last 2 times they met.....

That's because it was Sydney and wet not because he is a bona fide WFA miler.

He beat Dreamforce who is barely a G1 HCP horse and a pensioner. FI beat similar quality horse giving them weight relief.
Gotcha.

If you could kindly point out any Gp 1 1600m WFA losses he has had in Aus to support this that would be great. Given he has had 4 runs over the mile here for 3 wins and a Gp 2 WFA second I suspect they'll be limited.

Having also won the Carlyon Cup over a mile and a Gp2 over 1800m both at Caulfield on good tracks there's some Vic wins on the dry as well

no he wouldnt or he would have done it by now. But he can’t because he is a handicapper as evidenced by the fact he ran in the bill Ritchie HANDICAP on that day and couldn’t win despite getting weight from the likes of WFA superstar Tally!!
