Nonsense thread for a bit of fun, who are the best players with same letters starting their first and last name. We listed some cats players on that board but thought I would extend it to the AFL.

Some I can think of are
Mal Michael
Steele Sidebottom
Tim Taranto
Jason Johnson
Martin Mattener
Kent Kingsley

Don't you dare remind us of Kant Kicksley

B: Jason Johannisen, Charlie Comben, Max Michalanney
HB: Nic Newman, Aliir Aliir (C), Harry Himmelberg
C: Steele Sidebottom, Tim Taranto, Campbell Chesser
HF: Jamaine Jones, Charlie Curnow, Sam Switkowski
F: Charlie Cameron, Sam Sturt, Bailey Banfield
Foll: Callum Coleman-Jones, Henry Hustwaite, Harvey Harrison
Bench: Ben Brown, Zane Zakostelsky (VC), Patrick Parnell, Joel Jeffrey
Sub: one of Charlie Clarke, Luke Lloyd

Doghouse: Tarryn Thomas

That half back line, as well as having Curnow & Cameron up forward is a pretty decent starting nucleus. If the Tassie expansion team got given the alliteration team I reckon they’d start off ok, draft some mids and go from there.

Zane Zakostelsky bonus points for being a ZZ

Also the alphabet league would throw up some interesting games

1st seed likely be the M’s
B: McVee, J.McGovern, Da.Moore
HB: Maynard, May, McGrath
C: McCluggage, Merrett, J.McInerney
HF: C.MacDonald, Lo.McDonald, Dy.Moore
F: Miers, H.McKay, Mihocek
Foll: R.Marshall, Miller, Mills
Bench: Meek, Mannagh, Maginness, D.Martin
Sub: McKercher

Huge key position depth - can’t find a spot for Ben McKay, Mitch McGovern, T.Marshall, O.McInerney, T.McDonald, McCartin, Membrey, McStay, Melican or Nick Murray. Also Tom Mitchell in his best form clearly makes it but questions on him after 2024.

They probably play the S team.

B: Scrimshaw, J.Serong, Starcevich
HB: Stewart, Sicily, Saad
C: Sinclair, C.Serong, Sidebottom
HF: Sheezel, Stringer, Schultz
F: Stengle, Stanley, Sturt
Foll: Sweet, Steele, Simpkin
Bench: Ba.Smith, Short, Salem, Silvagni (utility with extra size gets him the gig)
Sub: B.Scott

Super solid run, bit light on for height but can cover with 3rd tall marking options down back & has a clever forward line.
There’s about a dozen best 22 players as depth such as Sharp, Sholl, Sharman, Shiel, Soligo, Sparrow, Switkowski, Sonsie just some of them in reserve - wing spots loaded.

H, B, C not bad either. Do them tomorrow.

I wonder how bad the "U" or "Q" teams would be.

They’d definitely beat the As
