Peyton Manning’s production company agrees to deal with ESPN for alternate MNF broadcasts

Posted by Michael David Smith on July 19, 2021, 3:16 PM EDT

For years, ESPN’s wish has been to have Peyton Manning in the Monday Night Football booth. Manning has spurned those offers, but he will have a role in Monday Night Football going forward.

ESPN announced today that Manning and his Omaha Productions company will partner with ESPN on alternate broadcasts that will features both Peyton and Eli Manning.

The Peyton and Eli MegaCast will air on ESPN2 while the regular broadcast airs on ESPN (and sometimes ABC). Peyton and Eli will work remotely, bring in their own guests and have more of a conversation, rather than a standard broadcast with play-by-play and color commentary from a booth in the stadium.

“This partnership with ESPN and The Walt Disney Company reflects an ongoing, shared commitment to offering fans fun, innovative content,” Peyton Manning said in a statement. “ESPN+ has been a terrific partner for Omaha Productions as we built out The Places franchise and we’re excited to co-create a new MegaCast format that will have something for everyone.”

Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick remain in the ESPN booth

NFL Network to air a record 23 live preseason games

Posted by Myles Simmons on July 19, 2021, 2:43 PM EDT

The NFL eliminated one week of the preseason to create a 17-game regular season. But what the league has dubbed its “biggest season ever” will begin with more exhibition matchups than ever before on NFL Network.

The NFL announced on Monday that a record 23 live preseason games will be carried on NFL Network in August, with quadruple-headers in Week One and Week Two, plus a pair of triple headers in Week Three.

The league’s press release touts rookie quarterback Mac Jones’ debut for the Patriots as part of the first matchup between New England and Washington on Thursday, Aug. 12. No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence’s likely preseason debut for the Jaguars will also be televised, with Jacksonville taking on Cleveland on Saturday, Aug. 14.

The game between the Jaguars and Browns is part of the first quadruple-header on NFL Network. They’ll televise Dolphins vs. Bears at 1 p.m. ET, Broncos vs. Vikings at 4 p.m. ET, Browns vs. Jaguars at 7 p.m. ET, and Chargers vs. Rams at 10 p.m. ET. That final contest will be the first game with fans at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

The following Saturday, Aug. 21, will feature another quadruple-header. And the preseason will finish up with triple-headers on Saturday, Aug. 28 and Sunday, Aug. 29.

NFL Network will also show the rest of the league’s preseason slate throughout the month on a re-air basis.

Does anyone know if there is a legal way to get the Big 10 Network in Australia?

Pac-12 Network is on 7+, SEC & ACC Networks are on WatchESPN. I can't can't find a way anymore since BTN International disappeared.

Can't find Thursday Night Football on Twitch. I thought Amazon had rights to broadcast the Thursday night game this season?

They only have the rights to 11 TNF games this year. First game on Amazon/Twitch will be in Week 5

It appears they have the rights to all TNF games from 2022

Guy on the right is Ben Graham - former Geelong Cats forward and longtime NFL punter. Guy on the left is some dude who used to do the overnight shift on SEN

Thanks mate. At least BG has played the game. The other bloke looks like he has learnt everything from playing Madden.

F*** me …I assume Brady has auditioned with past games for Fox to commit that much money. Assume it went better than Witten’s audition.

Fox generally get it right, ESPN constantly **** it up. I think Brady would be great.

Why's that mate?

How many different packages they need to watch the nfl. Bloke I listen to on the "locked on" podcast today was saying he needs to get 4 different subscriptions

Yeah right, so what is that all exactly?
Are FOX, CBS, NBC not just standard like FTA is here?
Then you need cable for ESPN I guess, and a streaming service in Amazon for TNF.

But I guess that doesn't mean you have every game live, can't you just get Sunday Ticket or whatever it's called?

If that was the set-up for Aussie Rules here we would be ****ed. I've commented elsewhere if the league puts games behind a streaming service the ratings will plummet.

Dunno, he was having a bitch about it as he went over the schedule saying "how many ****ing packages am in for this year?" and came up with 4.... all why saying he's never found Tom Brady interesting in the slightest and he has no idea why a broadcaster would pay him that much money.

Was a good melt 👍
