It won’t. Hawthorn aren’t going to pay a player 1 million dollars. Over the next two years the following players will be gone; Roughead, Burgoyne, Puopolo, Birchall, Frawley and Henderson freeing up even more cap space. That’s not counting Rioli and Vickery who have retired.

Hawthorn are more likely to target a player like Coniglio than Gaff.

Polec is a dud. The guy has bounced around the league. Smith on the other hand has been one of the premier wingman since 2011.

Smith is up there with the most overrated players in the competition.

Gaff & Polec have his measure, and there's little between he & Hartung at the same age.

Smith gets that x3 overrated factor due to hawthorn's dominance + the ricky bobby's "i wanna go fast" mentality supporters have. They see a fast player and go "woah...awesome". Smith is good don't get me wrong but i think gaff and polec are better.

And that's expected as that's name has popped up I need media. I remember reporting of hawthorn after conglomerates in 2019.

Players r never compared one v one but their respective role to the team. So it's not an exaggeration to compare the two in regards to their roles. Haetung has done excellently in his outside running run in his first yr for us. So if a hall, polec r done and if gaff gets done then when u add in hadtung fully Fitbit and put Higgins in there, we should b getting a decent outside capability now. Premiership team happens very quickly once u have addressed your teams biggest deficiencies.

He's one of those blokes that get inflated by nuffies because he was a premiership player.

Gaff is head and shoulders better, Polec is comparable, and Hartung has 6 years to catch/overtake Smith.

You have no clue.... neither do you understand Hawks payment structure. Just a stupid outlandish statement to make. We have some of the smartest people incharge of our list management, which they know what they're do as we could have kept Sam Mitchell & Jordan Lewis when Tom & Jaeger came, then take Vickery & Rioli off our books. We got money, & even if West Coast match we got enough to trade...

Explain how the Hawks would be upset that North stole a player that they had de-listed.
