I did love the Church though. Absolute debauchery at its filthiest best.
Having said that, I hate it when people make up pissweak excuses. Warney's 'Mum gave it to me' and now Johns saying the disco bikkie got 'put' into his pocket by someone else and he forgot about it? Please!

He didn't forget..... An unknown person 'put' it is his pocket.
In saying that, is it really a big deal? I don't think so. I don't condone ellicit drugs but it's no big deal.

It is a big deal.
The first post was only part of Johns' explanation. The rest he suggests that he forgot about the pill.He didn't forget..... An unknown person 'put' it is his pocket.

IN A shock confession Andrew Johns has revealed he was in the grip of drugs and alcohol throughout his whole playing career.
"I took the drugs to escape from the pressure and get away from being a football player," he told The Daily Telegraph tonight.
The league legend also admitted that he is battling depression.
In an extraordinary about-face from his earlier assertion that he had no intention of taking an ecstasy pill, which he said an unknown person placed in his jeans pocket at a London club, Johns came clean.
"I was going to take the pill for sure," he said.
"I'm not looking for sympathy, I put my hand up. I've done the wrong thing."

Just goes to show, rec drugs exist in many levels of society, even pro sport. I'd also hazard to say it shows that no sports administrators (in many codes) are prepared to dig around for drug use among their top shelf stars, afraid of what they might find............

NRL Footy Show - Andrew Johns - Watch
I know this has come up in other threads and am happy for this to be amalgamated or deleted in due course but for now this is a heads up to anyone with delayed access to the NRL Footy show - watch it. Possibly the most revealing and honest interview I have seen from a sportsman. Admits a lot and answers every question honestly. Liked him as a player but rumours always suggested he was a tosser. My opinion has changed. Take a look if you have the chance.

I suppose the fact he is contracted to Channel 9, would of been the major reason why the interview took place (where as Cousins wasn't contracted to any TV network) in that manner. But I'll give him credit, at least he had the balls to sit down to ADMIT to his problems and explain them to the public, something Cousins has NEVER done and most likely never will do.
Sad to see Johns name ruined in this manner, but the fact remains he was still a great player, but now has this blackmark next his name.

Ben Cousins admited he had a problem, made a public statement admitting he "had a problem with substance abuse" (not on a contracted tv station to boost ratings) and then went to fix it in rehab. Johns should be commended for admitting his problem but he spent his entire career on drugs and is still on them now. Apprently because he spent a night in jail he's fixed, and he doesn't deserve all the slander that Cousins had put on him because he's played out his career. What a load of crap, i hope he gets everything that Cousins had and more, he stood by and didn't object to criticism of Cousins despite he being in the same position all his life. Shows how much integrity he has, lets hope he change more than one habbit in his post playing days.

I tape the NRL Footy Show every Thursday as it doesn't come on until 12.15am here. Usually watch it on Saturday mornings sometime, so I'm looking forward to seeing the interview.

How an ex player can be compared to a current day player is a bit well laughable. As Gallop said if he done this while playing he would of been punished severely.
There always was strong rumors that Joey liked to party hard. Guess they were true. Dont know about you but I wasnt really surprised to find this out
