NEWS TODAY

Hawthorn youngsters Mitch Thorp, Beau Muston and Brendan Whitecross are swapping their gold and brown guerseys for the teal, black and white of Port Adelaide after the two proud clubs made deals on day 3 of trade week.

The Hawthorn coaching staff were particularly disappointed to see Thorp leave Glenferrie for the teal pastures of Alberton. The young forward had felt that opportunities would be limited in the top-heavy forward line and had asked to be traded specifically to Port after the Power had shown repeated interest.

Muston, 21, who is recovering from his second knee reconstruction, joins a club that is known for getting the best out of players who have had multiple setbacks (Lade, Wilson).

In return the Hawks receive speedster Nathan Krakouer, arguably Port's best kick in Paul Stewart and recently upgraded rookie Nick Salter.
