Impressions?

Only played a couple of missions so far but blends Destiny/Warframe/Mass Effect gameplay pretty well.

Lot of fun. Flying is intuitive once you get used to it. Very much an 'Iron Man' feel.

Like kangle4 said, they'll need to have a lot of beefy content to sustain a player base. That being said we're only getting a snippet with the demo. Got a feeling the ability cooldowns are buffed in this.

Played well on PC with a GTX 1080, 16GB RAM, Ryzen 1600 and SSD, will need to change over the fan as I was getting high 70's.

PS4 just starting first mission now and loading time is pretty bad

I've spent a few hours with it. Plays quite well. I have finished the story missions and trying to complete the damn stronghold. First team I had were quite good but I got stuck on a broken loading screen a fair way in so couldn't finish. Since then I have only been able to group with total crabs.

The sound effects and particle effects make it look and sound a bit like the Transformers movies. The movement takes some getting used to but once you do it's clear it is designed that way for twitch reactions. I like it but the proof will be in how the end game shapes up. There are plenty of games like this now so there will be the need for something substantial there for it not to be another flop.

Loving the storm javelin. Assuming there will be more elemental abilities in the full game but it's great to freeze unshielded stuff for CC. Will need to look up what detonates what for combos too.

Reckon some of the loading screens are a bit long for a good system using an SSD. Hopefully that's tweaked as they optimise the game before launch. Would hate to see what it's like on console unless they're better optimised. Looks pretty through running at everything ultra at 1440p between 70-90fps on average. I would probably tweak a few things on launch to hit the 100 average though so I'm safe from drops screwing up gsync.

Thought I had you on Origin but it appears not. It's just nekroturd if you want to hit me up.

Fair points. Lot of consoles were reporting loading screens freezing around 90% as well.

Added. :thumbsu:

YouTube finally finished processing my footage at 1440p/60 if anyone who isn't going to play the demo wants to have a look at a stronghold. In Destiny terms it's like a strike, or dungeon in any other MMO. It was only my second time with the storm javelin so I spent most of the run getting the hang of it. Storm plays a lot like engineer from Mass Effect: Andromeda and you can change your load out for different elements. Default is a fire blast thing and an ice beam but I've changed it up to electricity. It is a very squishy javelin but early on I'm guessing it has the highest damage output so a bit of a glass cannon. Being able to hover is fun, it gives you a stronger shield but as you can see you become an easier target. Looks like there will be heaps of opportunity to make some great builds in the full game but demo is a bit limited. I've nailed the flying in free play but pretty average in the tight spaces lol. Hopefully underwater is address before launch because right now it feels awful.

It's on PC with ultra settings but quality has degraded a little. I was experimenting using Shadowplay to record but it looks like I should try something better going forward as I want to start recording more games.

Did someone say Hulkbuster? :D

Seems easier to login on the PS4 today, but yesterday was a trainwreck. 95% load screen issues and rubberbanding was terrible. Seemed to have to rely on joining someone else who had a better connection.

Feels like Mass Effect Andromedia 2.0 with jetpacks (I mean that as a compliment).

Similar voice actors, similar feel. Having fun with it when I can actually log in.

Hopefully there's enough story/content in the full game to keep people around longer than a month.

Managed to get in and play for around 2 minutes, EA make very pretty looking games, at this stage it isn't on my to get list but that will likely change if others get it and I'm bored and want to fit in.

Yep. **** Sony for not allowing EA access. For the players the say.

I like how they decided for themselves that it’s not something the players want so they didn’t offer it. Rather than opting in and letting the players decide. That would impact on their royalties on every EA game of course.

Pretty shit by Sony but no surprise. With EA doing this, wondering if it's in response to the raft of issues with the Anthem VIP demo and not being overly confident of the final release....

I think it’s that they don’t lose anything. Software isn’t finite, so by giving people a cheap go they have a far greater chance of players buying a copy or subscribing to the service. That and probably a little bit of an olive branch given EA and Bioware’s press over the past couple years.

Had a pretty decent ~5 hours or go at it today

It's fun, but joining midway through the game in the demo is confusing
