Hi there Pie Fans

Just curious if any of your memberships entitle you to seats at "away games".

This year with ANZAC Day being our home game and our membership currently nudging 30K we're combined going to have in excess of 100K members come ANZAC Day.

Lots of Pie/Bomber fans will miss out if they don't purchase early.

Will you miss out or are you confident of making it to the best game of the home and away season?

We have 9000 Legends members who have a reserved seat at all 18 games in Melbourne, so most of them will probably be there.

Last year we also offered a special "Anzac day" membership which gave a reserved seat on Anzac day, and a couple of other games as well. I guess as it's your home game, we won't be offering that one in 2011.

It will sell out really early, but that's pretty normal these days.

I'll try and break down the numbers for ANZAC day this year, and this is based on what has happened in past seasons.

100k capacity, including standing room, restricted view etc;

22K MCC
22K AFL Members

10K corporate (and growing every year for this game)

That leaves 44,000 tickets for the remaining Collingwood and Essendon Members who are not AFL or MCC Members.

Those who want to get in, will get in, they do every year, all you have to do is know what day your allocation of tickets go on sale (AFL, Collingwood, Essendon etc) and buy your tickets on that day.

With all those members and corporates before me, no wonder I only got a ticket in the very back row at the top of the southern stand when I came to Melbourne 18 months ago. I needed a telescope...not worth the flight

Okay and if that's the case we'd have 30K easily with annual reserved seats for our home games which wont leave much for the remaining members of both competing clubs.

10K corporate where do they come from?

It's a rough estimate, but you can see every year now that the AFL is selling "high end" packages to the ANZAC day game, as they see it is their biggest home and away game, and it isn't starting become a chance for the AFL and the two competing teams to make money through selling these packages.

I to will be watching on TV .....its the best seat in the house:D

Sorry to bump this thread, but does anyone know roughly when the tickets will go on sale for the general public?

If the "system" is still the same as last year, then the tickets for all games in April will go on sale on the first Friday or Saturday of March. (Not sure which day, as I think one day is for Etihad (Ticketmaster) and one is for the MCG (Ticketek).

Thanks mate.

As it's their home game, I'm pretty sure Essendon members will get first crack at it and then anything left will be offered to our members. Could be really tough for us to get in this year.

I'm booking flights to Melbourne tonight on the hope that I'll be able to get tickets when they come out. Hopefully they are available on the magical day in March, whenever it is.

Hey guys, just got word from my friend who is an MCC member that tickets to ANZAC day were available today. I think our tickets were reserved seating and about $40 each. From memory they were a two rows back on the top deck.

I didn't think the members area went that high? Or would he have got public access tickets? Not sure what happened, but stoked to be at the game. I've been way up on the third level before, so I'm hoping two rows back will be pretty good.

Anyone have any experience of the game at that height?

Cheers guys, and go get your tickets!

I've been all the way up there, you can see the play fine, some would say even better than being on the first level.

It's definitely a different perspective, you can see the leads and the play unfolding better, but you dont feel as much a part of it, you feel a bit removed.

Personally I prefer to be as close as I can, first row first level if possible, but I know a few people that would prefer to be in the last row 3rd level. So just depends I guess.

Just a reminder for any AFL members out there, tickets go on sale for all March and April games at the MCG tomorrow from 9am, which includes ANZAC Day, The Carlton Flag unfurling game, and the Richmond away game.

I'll be on from 9am to get a heap of tickets for each game. (Already have tickets to Carlton though).:thumbsu:

They had an AFL member pre-sale last weekend, where you could buy reserved seats for any game of the year, so I already went through and bought our reserved seats for all the big games, including Anzac Day.

Yeah, but they only put very few on sale (1500 for the MCG, 300 for Etihad) and because I was trying to get tickets to the StKilda game at Etihad later in the year, by the time I got around to trying to get ANZAC day tix, I was left with top deck.

I will get bottom deck seats tomorrow morning, no probs anyway, and thankfully from now on they split Ticketmaster and Ticketek apart, because Ticketmaster (Etihad games) are bloody shithouse.
