Team Captain
If Caulfield can get their best team on the park for the rest of the year, they should finish on top, hardest thing will be keeping Gotch away from Metro. I hope SKEVS and X belt the purple out of each other.....

Caufield are a good side, there is no question, having said this, in order to finish outright top they need XAVIER to lose another game. Xavier have played all of the contenders except Skevs. After XAV play Skevs, they play GGS MGS and BGS; cant see them losing to any of these sides.
If you're still after that top spot, come June 18 you'll be quietly cheering for the gold green and blue.
who have been the good players every week for st kevins they don't have many representatives apart fom purcell do they? good depth?
When Skevs have a full team in (and all things being equal come June 18, the full side will be in) they don't carry any passengers. Against wes today they were missing most of their back line.
XAV SKC should be a good game. Havent seen Xavs play this year, but wins against cau scotch and HY away speaks volumes about the side. Having said this, if SKC can get their best together at the snake pitt they will be very competitive.

prowse is a 100% starter, richards is 50% at this stage, hes a strong chance to play VM in Perth. Breust expected to return for the big game, which is a huge inclusion. Nothing more exciting than this in Melbourne next week. As for Xavier crowd, knowing Personally, how many people they have gotten every week, they should get around 450 or so...skevs will not get 600 if they paid people to come. Great crowd expected..cant wait.Minus the gleesons.
Should be a ripsnorter of a game. HOw many from Xavier are expected to rock up?
From skevs im guessing about 600 odd + old boys and parents etc.
Will xavier be missing Richards and prowse, or will they be out of vm?

Righto, I'll have a crack...
Sadly the best two teams this year have been hard hit by rep footy. No matter what you clowns say about 'Skevs' and 'Xavs,' Wesley and Caulfield are by far the best two teams in this competition.
With Curran, Greene, Frost, Darrou and others all playing, Wesley would beat everyone. With all these in, they were stiff to play Caulfield on a such a wet day.
Xav's beat Caulfield some weeks ago. Caulfield were missing a bloke who is more important to them (not necessarily their best player) than any other player to any other team in the APS. With this bloke in, they have lost only one game in the past two years.
The way things are with the Nationals carnival and lead-up practice games, the best schools with the best players will always suffer. It's just how the system works. I didnt attend either school, but from a neutral perspective, both Wes and CG can consider themselves unlucky for the way things have panned out in '011. They are clearly 1 and 2 without the interference.
One last point on this continual rubbish about who Xav's may or may not have missing? One is a star and is on an AFL list. Given. One can play no doubt, but isnt within the best dozen at Metro and should consider himself lucky to play the main games against SA, WA and Country.
The other? A bloke in a wheelchair could get a kick on him. But I'm sure he's a great kid.
No names mentioned. Just putting a few muppets back in their place. Good luck to you are your team for the rest of the season.

mate. you have to understand that happens. and the TEAM with the best depth and strength will win. I have highlight 2 key areas you spoke about. about wesley. they are without doubt the best school having the best 22 this year and maybe forever. but that is what has cost them. the purchase of these gun players then play for Vic and rep teams costing them games what would have won anyway. Similar to Carey next year and Scotch the year after in 2013. i dont know all the kids names. but they will have alot of individuals missing costing them the premiership. so buy saying that the premiership deserves to go to the team that can move on if players are lost and blokes not in the best 22 can stand up and play at that level, where Xavier have that strength. i am a Xavier boy, i believe i'm not biased. but there has been 31 players for Xavier this year. that explains a great deal of depth through the top level footballers, still persisting to win games with numerous injuries and state footballers to the better players. argue with me if you please but i dont think theres much to argue about in that area.
about the xavier vs caulfield game. seb gotch is the bloke you speak of? if i know the game of football correctly Richards (CHB) and Golds (HBF/RR) are a much more valuable players than Gotch. Im not saying gotch is no good. he is a gun and would be in the best 10 in APS and so would the other 2. I dunno Gotch v Richards is a good discussion. but either way. with those to in for Xavier and Gotch in for Caulfield, im pretty sure xavier still would have won , and by alot more.
Thirdly, 'the other kid' is verrrrrrry underrated and may sneak as a rookie listed player. in the best for NSW/ACT two weeks in a row now. plays like a chris newman. very effficiant by foot and clean and classy all over the ground.
Have a go at me if you please
Ha. That's when your credibility died.
But fair enough on the karma for trying to buy a team, if CGS don't win this year they are the a prime example, carey will be next yr and BGS and scotch the yr after. But i don't think Wesley have bought all there players tbh, hunter, greene darou have been there for a while, but there would be 2 or so kids who have got scholarships over recent yrs. But nothing on the level of Caulfield. Find me a gun player on their team who hasn't been on some form of scholarship and i'll eat my house.
On the topic of depth and strength, schools such as Xavier, CGS and Wesley should have the most, due to fact they are multi campus schools with boarding - meaning that they should be able to facilitate more footballers at the school. Xavier seem the only of these top schools with depth. Others that should be good based on size include Scotch, MGS, GGS, GC, because they all have boarding facilities. St. kevins seem to match up and out shine these schools fairly consistently, being only single campus non boarding or international, and still fielding the equal most teams for open footy with xavier.
Caulfield and Wesley are co-ed though which obviously cuts the talent pool a lot more, Xavier is an all boys school so obviously they should have greater depth in numbers
Official word is on Friday there is going to be an 'exchanging of words,' with the opposing school captains going to skevs and xavier to give some kind of speech to the senior cohort.

Its true, The Xavier School Captain is going to Skevs and vice versa. I think its just to make sure everyone knows to be respectful at the football and not cause any trouble or something, pointless i think, surely common sense prevails, i know the two schools dont like each other, but there both smart enough to know that starting a fight or abusing each other is stupid...will happen anyway though haha.where have you heard this in the square? and also what is the point of this?
