Maynard has a duty of care to Brayshaw. He failed in that duty. He should be playing his last game for the season.

And don't even get me started about dangerfield making prognostications about this sort of incident. President of the players group etc posing as judge and jury.
Pretend Maynard is Curnow, I bet you say something completely different.

Maynard was trying to spoil and braced himself when coming down to land. I would hope if that was Curnow, it would be seen as a football incident.

Pace is trumping grunt atm … we’re gonna need an extra runner or two I reckon
Collingwood aren’t committing the same numbers to each contest. One goes in 3 or four are lining up. To tackle the Melb player or receive and take off.

Contested ball is our strength because we do the same.

Melb aren’t following instructions.

It's identical to the Cripps incident the way I see it. Both leave the ground to contest the ball in a football act. Both have no intention to bump. Both whilst in the air brace to protect themselves. Just a ridiculously unfortunate outcome in both cases

Nope. He rotates his shoulder and collects him. I would be very worried if I saw Charlie do that...

Let’s remember who the MRO officer is so won’t even be looked at wonder what Robbo will say after his last comments on Maynard’s tackle same round as Boyd got suspended

I loathe the sniper that is Maynard but agree entirely with this post.

Nope. Of you are genuine about protecting the head you cannot allow a loophole that let's people cannonball into a players head.

Commentators say "he was already in the air. What can he do". The simple snswer us not to leap at a player when you know that the only outcome is to cannon into him.

Early days but there is a remote possibility that this ends Brayshaw's career. Do you just say bad luck mate?
