..........what makes you guys believe that you are a chance to secure Ben King? Surely you must realise that A) he is a lifelong Saint supporter and B) he wants to play with his twin Max. I'm not trolling I am actually very interested in what you guys are thinking....

A) every kid in the draft supports one team or another.
B) have you asked him yourself? Seemed pretty keen to come to us draft night.

I don’t think we believe we have any more or any less chance than any other club.

Dylan Shiel was a lifelong Carlton fan, he chose Bombers over Carlton because young footy players prepare themselves to have to put their team allegiances aside when they make it to the big leagues. Maybe he wants to play for his childhood club but more likely he wants to play in a premiership and we offer a much higher likelihood of that.

And whats your source on him wanting to play with his brother? And how strong is this desire, would he really let it affect his decision more than other factors like money, role or potential for success?
 
As the resident "Grand Final Sprint" weirdo Ben King is the biggest thing since well another Saint Rhys Stanley
to watch a tall man power down that track in a display of grace and power just makes you say "Get Him Here".
If Ben King stays at Gold Coast he could become the Usain Bolt of the Grand Final Sprint, some people love
the grand final, some the entertainment, but me I worship the Grand Final Sprint winner it's bigger than the
Olympics.

The way that you ask the question says a fair bit... The Saints’ hopes are built on Ben King wanting to play at his childhood team with his brother. Not being a well run club. Not having elite players to play with. Not having recent success. Not being poised for success. Just hoping he wants to play with his brother.

I have no doubt being interstate from his twin would be very hard for him but now he’s had a taste of that freedom I’m not sure he’d want to dive into a situation where he would be ‘one of the twins’ again. Moving to another vic club would mean he is able to be close to family and also have his own space. Put together with the fact he has some close mates at the Bulldogs and he’s called our Bont the goat. Why wouldn’t he come on over? I think it’d be great for both of them as well they’d have the social ties of both clubs while maintaining their own identities. But it’s all speculation obviously from both clubs. No one can decide for him what he wants.

To start a thread on an opposition board, putting your condescending opinion towards us all because you think it’s a god given right he will move to Saints when his contract is up, that is the epitome of trolling.

You are a flog and for the sake of the comp, I hope he stays at Gold Coast as kids being drafted & running back home as soon as they can is not good & if it happens it will continue to happen, which is still not good.
 
Why did you start this thread when no-one has the least idea what Ben King is thinking? We have no power over his decisions.

Gary Ablett grew up in Geelong, played with his brother and was the son of a club legend, so naturally when Gold Coast came knocking he respectfully declined their offer and remained a Cats player for life.

There are gonna be a lot of upset Saints when Ben chooses us next year. Boy oh Boy wowee this is going to be hilarious. It's already funny how defensive you lot are about him. I can sense a lot of insecurity in you Saints supporters.

The same reason athletes want to play for the New York Yankees, New England Patriots, Manchester City or Melbourne Storm and not the Miami Marlins, Cincinnati Bungles, Scampaignerhorpe United or Gold Coast Titans.

I hope so. Quality addition if it was to happen for any club, but of all clubs you guys need consistency & loyalty
