ASADA defied as banned dog at work. 2/3: Prismall no longer working for Dogs

I think the rules allow you to work at a sporting club just not playing or coaching capacity. Thought that was made clear on the first day of the suspension. Prisnall is suspended from playing or coaching, not from his job as a Welfare officer. Even WADA allows players to have a day job, even in sport. Think GWS moved Vitamins McVeigh into a non-football role.

They aren't allowed to even be in the same training facilities or even club rooms.

Not true. The only avenue is working in an Anti Doping education or rehab role.

22.1 Prohibition Against Participation During Ineligibility (a) No Player or other Person who has been declared Ineligible may, during the period of Ineligibility, participate in any capacity in an AFL Competition or activity

(other than authorised Anti-Doping education or rehabilitation programs) authorised by the AFL, Affiliated State or Territory Body or AFL Clubs, any Signatory or Signatory’s member organisation or a club or other member organisation of a Signatory’s member organisation, or in competitions authorised or organised by any professional league or any international or national level event organisation or any elite or national-level sporting activity funded by a government agency

22.2 Return to Training As an exception to clause 22.1, a Player may return to train with a team or to use the facilities of a club or other member organisation of a Signatory’s member organisation during the shorter of: (a) the last two (2) months of the Player’s period of Ineligibility; or (b) the last one-quarter of the period of Ineligibility imposed.41

40 For example, subject to clause 22.2, an Ineligible Player cannot participate in a training camp, exhibition or practice. The term ’activity’ also includes, for example, administrative activities, such as serving as an official, director, officer, employee, or volunteer of the organisation described in this clause. Ineligibility imposed in one sport shall also be recognised by other sports.
mmm then the plot thickens

Hah. Ban for another 2 years and punish the club. Really starting to get annoyed at the dogs. Nobody seems to take any of this seriously
yep, flagrant disregard of the sanctity of the system. I think stripping of first two rounds of draft picks for next year is appropriate don't you

10.12 Status during Ineligibility

10.12.1 Prohibition against Participation during Ineligibility
No Athlete or other Person who has been declared Ineligible may, during the period of Ineligibility, participate in any capacity in a Competition OR ACTIVITY (other than authorized anti-doping education or rehabilitation programs) authorized or organized by any Signatory, Signatory’s member organization, or a club or other member organization of a Signatory’s member organization.

10.12.3. The term “activity” also includes, for example, administrative activities, such as serving as an official, director, officer, employee, or volunteer of the organization described in this Article. Ineligibility imposed in one sport shall also be recognized by other sports (see Article 15.1, Mutual Recognition).]

Rent a quote Richard was on Sen and was surprised too and like i quoted earlier could not understand the document wb say they have given the ok( taking lessons from dank lol) by afl and afl saying its still under discussion.

Very strange that the AFL is taking so long to give the clubs clarity. Another article today about some Essendon players training said that their club is in contact with them about their footy program to ensure they come back in top condition. I thought a club doing that wasn't allowed either. Something strange going on, again.
Do you have a link for that?

So what happens exactly?

Pris has to start his 2 years again? WADA and ASADA can't fine the club, what happens if the AFL just let him keep doing what he's doing?

Or you could do what the AFL Anti Doping Code stipulates the penalty is for violating prohibition of participation during ineligibility...

You add a new period of ineligibility equal in length to the original period of Ineligibility to the end of the original period of ineligibility... So that's an extra two years to the end of the current ban. (with potential adjustments if appropriate due to fault and circumstance)

It's a dangerous line to cross.

that doesn't even punish the Bulldogs for the crime of not taking wada seriously. Not good enough

Nobody here knows TBH. I think you'd have to ask ASADA or WADA as the AFL has ok'd it.
22.3 of the AFL Anti Doping Code:

Where a Player or other Person who has been declared Ineligible violates the prohibition
against participation during Ineligibility described in clause 22.1, the results of such
participation shall be disqualified and a new period of Ineligibility equal in length to the
original period of Ineligibility shall be added to the end of the original period of Ineligibility.
The new period of Ineligibility may be adjusted based on the Player or other Person’s
degree of Fault and other circumstances of the case. The determination of whether a
Player or other Person has violated the prohibition against participation, and where
adjustment is appropriate, shall be made by the AFL. This decision may be appealed
under clause 20.

But that is from the AFL anti doping code. The AFL have approved Prismall's job at the Bulldogs…….

oh I just bet you do. The anticipation of a hit is the single biggest reason junkies stay junkies
Speaking from experience eh? I wondered how long it would take you lot to come back to the HTB. Didn't take much it seems.
