He played his first match since his injury last w/e, and it was as good as you could hope for, played practically the whole game, while his timing was a little off in the ruck, he was everywhere and looked dangerous when pushing forward. At this stage things look good.

Love it, only thing I could suggest, is change Mackie in the backline as Harley is now retired he is earmarked to take on a more defensive role. Upgrade Higgins to Goodes, as Higgins preseason so far has left a lot to be desired.

Yeah I'm in agreement with IsDon and Jonesy. My team has a similar shape about it. For a midfield with 2 rookies starting it's pretty strong and if you trade wisely you should have a monster midfield come finals time.

One thing you might consider is switching the key forwards brown/franklin for a midfielder that can be picked forward as they tend to have more consistency in scoring.

Great side although I think Barlow & Banner are still rookies and yet to earn a spot on their teams list. I'll stand corrected though.

Barlow definitely is, but Banner is on Port's senior list.

I think Barlow is a certainty to get upgraded, and didn't see Banner but I'd probably trade him for Bastinac.

Except for Spike and Lachy, I like it. I would get rid of Lachy for Sheppard, and put Hunt on field, and downgrade Spike to Martin or Trengove

Thanks eth-dog, took your advice on both counts and now have a whole lotta cash left over (295,000) Next question, would it be better to upgrade one player heaps or try spread it around?

Well done ceebs ,thats one of the best balanced teams Ive seen so far! Barlow is odds on cert for promotion and on form will play round 1 and score well,Banner has being xcellent for the Port..hav'nt seen much of Bastianic but can play from all reports.
I heard some where that Buddy is out for round 1 ?? and agree that Higgins could be risky
Hitchcock (Port rookie) could be worth a look as a cheap bench option (fwd)

He played and was pretty good, had about 16 touches off HB not bad considering he was returning from a hamstring injury.

I believe that the coaching department will give Myers every chance in the preseason to be part of the 22 in Round 1.

He played last week against carlolton and got a 70. Not sure what his TOG was but you'd think it was fairly decent to get a 70 (that's DT by the way).
