I know he's a premium, but I'm not 100% sold on him yet. I still want another 300/400k option in the back line, but I can't find one.
Kennelly, Suban and Hooker.

Kennelly is easily the best choice there.

Suban is a talented second year player who played every game last year. Good value and low risk.

Hooker is left field but I am expecting him to be our most improved player this year. He has no injury worries, he will be able to settle as an attacking CHB which will help him score well, he has been improving every year and he looked very clean and confident in the NAB cup game.

Hey I would just like to gather some opinions about Stanton this season.

With the rise of Watson, Prismall and Winderlich, do you still see him as your number 1 tagged mid?

We all know that he guns it when he isn't tagged and does alright when he is, but he could be a good rare pick this season if he is tagged much less.

Also when he isn't tagged, will his role be to go head to head with a gun from the opposition? I seem to recall him playing on Ablett and Brent Harvey last season.

And lastly, has there been any problems in his preseason?

Cheers in advance.:)

I'm not sure if Stanton was our #1 tagged this year. Watson copped some heavy treatment and IMHO rightfully so. We need that depth of 5 or 6 guys which would allow 2 or 3 of them to get free at any one time.
He had some sort of scare and missed (as you'd surely know if you were watching) the WCE match, but I believe is right to go now.

Ben Warren
Taylor Walker (is he fit?)
Gary Rohan

Ben Reid at a stretch (I think he might get games at CHB this year)

reid would be a reasonable punt at the price. he is a lock for the 1st few rounds at least at CHB

my reason for checking out the board - how is bachar houli tracking in the lead up to the season? has always impressed me when i've seen him was surprised he didn't play more in the seniors last year. do you guys expect him to play much senior footy in 2010?

cheers

My attempt at a dreamteam.

C. Cornes, Hodge, Mackie, H. Shaw, McPhee, Ladson, Hunt
Davis, Trengove

Bartel, K. Cornes, C. Morton, Masten, Martin, Trengove
Barlow, Shuey

Kreuzer, Tippett
Warnock, Skipper

N. Riewoldt, Pavlich, J. Brown, Franklin, Gray, Ziebell, Dangerfield
Dennis-Lane, Podsiadly

23k in the bank.

Bit shifty on C. Cornes' injuries. Better options?
Also Kreuzer after he sucked it up on the weekend.
So any idea people? Any help would be appreciated.

Not interested in Dempsey? He managed 19 games last season, hopefully he can stay fit for 22+ this year. Not in my team, but thought he could be an option?

My backs: Goddard, Fisher, Enright, Hodge, Ladson, Hurley, Suban, Hunt, Ladson, Sheppard.

Suban 305k, Hurley 393K, Ladson 249K...

Kennelly is easily the best value around that price tag.

Kennelly, Suban and Hooker.

I ended up going for Dempsey, but Kennelly is still an option

who would be a better opition winderlich or watson?

Watson IMO, think Winderlich could be thrown forward at times when we are struggling to convert, more time in the guts = better chance to score.

who's Hill (fwd)

How long is Hurley suspended for?

My current team:

D.Fletcher, S.Stevens, M.Hurley, B.Rutten, C.Tarrant, T.Kennelly, D.Merrett (D.Myers, N. Brown)

G.Ablett, J.Watson, A.Cooney, D. Rich, B.Dalziell, M.McVeigh (J.Trengrove, D.Martin)

P.Ryder, B.Ottens (Nic Nat, TBell)

A.Goodes, M.Pavlich, M.LeCras, B.Hall, M.Williams, P.Dangerfield, S.Gumbleton (D.Daniher, L.Tapscott)

Ive taken age as a big consideration in my team this year!
Fletch being turning 35 are they likely to rest him for a few games this year???
Ottens has played 1 full season in 7years, but i guess you have Nic Nat there waiting to go.

Lots of KPB that dont and wont score well i dont think, Rutten, Tarrant, Merret, N.Brown. you have to get 2 premiums in there atleast!! if not goddard then someone right up the top in the price range!

i would say get rid of Bellchambers pick bottom line 4th ruck, its a waste of a trade later in the year to trade out the 4th ruck and the 50k will be handy. if you want to go with Ottens do it, but trade Nic Nat in if he gets injured! its definately cash you need in the backline so only take one of those guys!

you could also get more cash into your backline by getting a rookie or 2 onto the field in the midfield!

make sure you have good backup for gumbleton if you are giving him a run on the ground (touchwood)

I can always swap them with Dangerfield and O'Keefe...
Josh Hill

I have altered the backline...hows this:

C.Enright, L.Gilbee, L.McPharlin, S.Stevens, M.Hurley, T.Kennelly, M.Broadbent (D.Myers, W.Schofield)

Also took out McVeigh and put Lewis Jetta on the bench. Also downgraded TBell for Jackson Trengrove.

Hille was never off the radar. Will probably take a bit to work up to full pace but is probably worth the punt.

D.Fletcher, S.Stevens, M.Hurley, B.Rutten, C.Tarrant, T.Kennelly, D.Merrett (D.Myers, N. Brown)

-Backline really needs some work, lacks any real classy high scorers. Not having Hodge in there is pure madness.
-Get rid of Dalziell. Better off going with another new draftee (Morabito, Jetta, Bastinac, etc...) and spending the coin you save on an upgrade elsewhere.
-You've got too much money on the pine, especially with NicNat. TBell will only get a game if our ruck division falls apart again.
-You're going to have holes in your forwardline. Gumbleton is no certainty, Daniher struggles to get a game and Tapscott is out for 6 weeks after hip surgery.
