GCFC Official, will one of the rookie listed players be promoted to the senior list anytime soon or will a decision be made once the season starts?
Hey there Matchu, theoretically speaking the AFL doesn't have to give the club a final decision until a week prior to the start of the Premiership Season, so don't expect there to be significant developments leading in to the NAB Challenge.

But with that being said, there are a number of rookies that have been shining this preseason. Boston has continued his surge into the summer after a strong finish to the 2013 season, and Josh Hall has continued his steady improvement as a future key forward.

Exciting times ahead for GC SUNS members and fans ;)

Thanks for the info. Good stuff. Would love to hear your answer to my question in the Metricon Stadium redevelopment thread too but I understand you may be busy.

Hey GCFC Official , Just wondering where Dan Gorringe will eventually be played. Ruck or KPF , from what I've heard he's very capable in front of the big sticks

Hey RookieListed,

As you mentioned, the greatest strength about a player like Gorringe is his flexibility to play multiple positions.

Very capable of doing the work in the centre square, and plucking a few grabs up forward when needed.

Expect him to stake his claim for senior action in 2014.

Has packed on some lean muscle over the summer, but still looks to be around the 187cm mark mate.

It's a lie. Jack Martin is 7feet tall!

Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.

When Sean Lemmens does debut what role do you see him filling GCFC Official? I personally believe we are in need of a small lockdown defender for quick small forwards like Betts and think Lemmens could develop nicely in to this role with his defensive mindset?

Hey JaegerBomb, with his explosive pace and thirst for the contest, Lemmens is definitely on his way to becoming a serviceable attacking defender off half-back. He offers McKenna plenty of run and carry out of defence.

Certainly doing all the right things on the training track.

When I saw Travis Cloke being allowed to wrestle his opponent out of the contest last night (because of a change in rules) I just kept thinking that someone like Charlie Dixon is going to be near impossible to stop for a defender.

Hey GCFC Official, are the plans for the redevelopment of Metricon Stadium and its surroundings available yet? We've heard the new Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre may become the Suns training and admin facilities post games and that a ferry service at the river end of the stadium isn't too far off as well. I'd also like to know if the club has definitively agreed to make the seating upgrade temporary or can they change their mind later?

GCFC Official, how bad is Sebby Tape's groin? Will he play any NAB Challenge games?

Will Rory Thompson play any NAB Challenge games?

Hey mate,

Sebby is certainly on track, so expect him to push for game 2 or 3 of the pre-season. Rory completed a big block of training after the Christmas break, and gained some good minutes in the modified match simulations.

But with the club's goal to ensure as many players as possible are available for round 1, don't be surprise if the boys training load is managed leading into the side's final practise match against Collingwood.

No need to rush any players back now - still 22 regular games and premiership points up for grabs!

GCFC Official

Hey, is there going to be a player sponsorship scheme this year? A few of us sponsored Harley a couple of years ago, and I'm sure we can get some people interested in it again.
There was a sponsorship program last year, but it was designed more for corporates and cost far more than what we could come up with. :(

I hope it's much cheaper this year though!
