Hey LI.
I’m a Vic member and so are my wife and boys. We have already booked accommodation to stay at Ballarat for the game against the Dogs at Mars Stadium. My wife just told me that apparently we don’t get entry to the game with our memberships? I told her it was nonsense as Ballarat is obviously in Victoria, but thought I’d ask here just in case. Could you please confirm if this is true or not? Many thanks

Being post 40yrs of age I have decided to grow up and stop wearing a lions guernsey to games. Are their Members Polos that I could purchase?
 
Lions_Insider - an unusual question if I may.

Why are the two "1's" on Lions jumpers so close together on Lions #11 jumpers (I noticed at the JLT game against Melbourne that from a distance, Lincoln McCarthy's number looks like he has a fat #1 on his back (was the same when Pearce Hanley wore the #11) where the 1's are no more than 2cm apart:

I've noticed that pretty much every other #11 running around in the AFL (examples below) there is a gap of at least 5-10cm's apart or not too dissimilar to Alistair Lynch's #11 below but as previously mentioned, McCarthy and Hanley's #11 doesn't look like an 11 given the closeness of the "1's".

Curious as to the reasoning why the two 1's on Lions #11 jumpers are placed in such close proximity to one another because aesthetically the examples of the Essendon and Crows jumpers are much clearer and easier on the eye.

Don't grow up and wear it with pride Jam! Two christmas' ago my wife bought be a new Guernsey for Xmas as I told her that was the only present I wanted. We were at her parents place on Xmas day overseas and they were none too happy when I wore it at the dinner table for Xmas lunch (with no shirt on underneath).
To make things worse I bought my 8 year old a Guernsey for Xmas last Christmas and we were at inlaws house again and he did exactly same thing. Needless to say grandparents less than impressed again!

What?!?

I'm turning 47 this year and have every intention of wearing my Lions guernsey over my Lions polo to Saturday nights game.

As for your question, and this is the first year I'm a member, so I have no idea. I just figured members could rock up to the club shop, flash their membership card and buy a Polo with "member" on the back.
 
It's classified as an interstate game by the AFL, so unfortunately the wife is correct. You will need to purchase tickets through MemberHQ

Not a question but a heads up, I’ve noticed a lot of media on the Lions website is stretched out of shape when you switch to portrait orientation on mobile (iPhone Safari). Might be one to mention to the web engineers. Could just be a simple CSS setting that needs to be tweaked.

Thank you Lions_Insider for all of your insight on here over the last year or so, very much appreciated.
Also, I think I would be speaking on behalf of most on here, if you can pass All our Best wishes onto the Team for tomorrow nights game. We can all see the progress being made with some brilliant acquisitions during the off season some good JLT form and the return of ‘Charles’. Excitement levels are at an all time high (well at least for a long time anyway).
It’s great to go into a season with some genuine expectation.

Sorry but that's Bullshit, I understand it's not necessarily the clubs call. But throw in Tasmania & Geelong (previously) it feels like we are consistantly getting the shafted with the sharp end of the pineapple.

do our full memberships get us in or do we need to buy tickets? If we are buying tickets can we do it through the club? And is there a lions fan seating area? Any other info that you think is relevant would be appreciated.

Has been answered previously. Answer was no not included as it's categorised as an interstate game by the AFL not a Melbourne game, so you have to buy tickets to it separately

Cheers - I had seen that but I though it was a query about a Melbourne or three day membership. Always hopeful of a freebie!!
 
Hi Insider, Just wondering if we are asking questions about Marvel stadium surface for this weekend?Are there any alternatives for venues? Or do we just cop it as it’s AFL owned and cross our fingers that we get through injury free? Thanks

Doubt there is going to be any major issues. They won't move the game, and the main part of the surface that is being question is being replaced during the week.
 
Lions_Insider can we please have the roar sound back on after each Lions goal at the Gabba? This was missing on Saturday night and members in my section, including myself 'missed' it.
