The Japanese dub was far better than the English VO. My only issue was that it was hard to keep track of what was being said sometimes when you're having to play the game

Early reviews have it around what you would expect for a Ubi AC title - mostly 8/10s with some 9s and 7s sprinkled in. So basically what Odyssey/Origins got.
8.5 from us in our review. I didn't review but have sunk about 12 hours in and I am really enjoying it.

I saw one review on Reddit that said if you are fully in the new era RPG or the old school games camp then you might be disappointed. If you are someone who enjoyed both equally then you will love this.
Made by Ubisoft Quebec who also made Origins and Odyssey which I loved.

Thought I was going to be able to get this free by trading in Black Myth Wukong and Star Wars, only to remember I have a digital copy of BMW as the disc version wasn't out at the time.

I think it looks pretty good too. I always get a little worried when a game gets delayed at the last moment for polish reasons but in this case it looks to have worked out. PC performance looks typical for Anvil which I was hoping for some more improvment in though. I haven't bought the last couple on release as AC games are junk food that I'll fit in at some point between other stuff.
I'm in love with this game to all the haters who trashed this game and Ubisoft can take a big L this game is awesome.

Heads up to any trophy hunters on here:
“Nothing is missable, you can still clean up everything after the story in free-roam BUT if the Animus Hub launcher loses online connection you could miss out on story trophies since nothing unlocks when you get disconnected from Uplay servers."
Every trophy unlocks fine and platinum is obtainable BUT if the game loses online connection to Ubisoft servers then trophies won’t unlock, this can be especially problematic with story-related trophies late into the game as these might not unlock if there are connectivity issues (Act 2 trophy is particularly glitchy)."

Ubisoft seem to cater towards the casual audience and that's fine.
Internet nerds just seem to be more vocal then the general public.
I'll check it out when it's cheap most likely. Or maybe skip it and just wait for Ghost of Yotei.

I have played every single AC game, their expansions, etc; one of my favorite all time series. People give Ubisoft heck but I always enjoy their games, this one is no different so far.

They don't make traversing the map particularly easy at times. You pretty much need to stick to the pathways around mountains, otherwise they face **** you with dense shrubs and trees.
Your mount can swim, that's pretty cool.
About 10 hours in. Enjoying it so far, though it's been pretty standard AC. Not as dull as Valhalla at least.

It's not even internet nerds, it's usually SJWs who still have their panties in a bunch about some of the culture issues that came to light a couple of years ago and are trying to cancel Ubisoft
Completed Act 1 and unlocked Yaskue he's op as **** I wonder if ubi will nerf him a bit lols

Yeah heaps loads better then Valhalla that game was bloated as and became a grind.
In shadows exploring and going to question marks is actually worth your time you get rewarded for pretty much anything you come across which I appreciate makes me want to explore.

Came across this temple:
Was thinking it looked familiar, then it clicked that I had been to this one! It was pretty much in this exact spot too, that an older Japanese lady pulled out a coin and showed us that this temple was on that coin too. She then gave the coin (and another) to my mate and I. She didn't speak English, but it was just one of those nice little travel moments.
It's pretty cool when you can replicate those kind of moments in a game!

Just up to this point too. That castle part with Yasuke is so bloody satisfying, wrecking every campaigner in your path!
Nice twist at the end there too.
Haven't played beyond that, but if that's anything to go by, they've nailed the dynamic between the play styles of the 2 characters. Something Syndicate didn't get quite right.

Probably grab this when there’s a good sale, but geez this game has the biggest divide in terms of is it good or is it shit. Seen so many videos saying it’s crap don’t play it, to its fantastic one of the best AC’s.
Only AC games I haven’t played are Syndicate, Unity & Black Flag, all the others I enjoyed.
