Happy with the thought that they will be given "help" when they live in the community,you know a place to live,money,maybe help to get a job things that you and family and friends may struggle to get.
Oh and they won't be placed in Northam no they will be in Perth near you.:D

Would have hoped Fremantle fans would have been a little more tolerant of those from overseas, given the heritage and contribution outsiders have made to Fremantle, and Fremantle culture.

Just disappointing we can't deal with our own internal refugees in an adequate manner, but the, "dey dooooooooookkkkkk durrrrrrr jobbbbbsss" types are generally against that as well.

I weep at the thought that an Eagles supporter is more tolerant than one of our own.

My view is that the asylum seekers who make the trips on boat are more resourceful (they worked out a better solution than sitting in a refugee camp for 10 years), wealthier (they had sufficient funds to pay their way) and smarter (get to Australia as quickly as possible - the sooner they get to start life in the Lucky Country). These are the people we WANT in Australia.

But it goes deeper than that that. This whole " let them wait in a refugee camp in their own country" is unadulterated horse shit.

Try being a Hazarra, (the major immigrant tribe entering here), in Pashtun dominated Afghanistan, and try just getting to a refugee camp, without getting murdered.

Even if they do get to the relative safety of a UN refugee camp, they are under constant threat of death, rape and extorsion for years and years on end. Let alone the disease risk and the complete social upheaval and isolation.

What right minded person would take that option if there was a viable, abeit risky, alternative? Which choice would the "burn the boats" morons take if faced with this dilemma?
