Did Alcaraz really just play a 3.5 hour match. Then backed it up 3 hours later and smash Careno? Guy is on freaking crack.
Forget about cracking the top 10 this year, may well break into the top 5 end of year at this rate.
As much as I love his game and enjoy watching him play, watch highlights of his first ATP win at 16 in a 3 hour grind against Ramos Vinolas on clay. His quads were already the size of Tom Hawkins's. It's not crack he's on.

Nadal will win the French easily. Been hitting the court a fair bit recently practising.
playing Madrid. Hasnt got a great record at that tournament(something to do with the Altitude). He has only won it 4 times.

Federer has entered Basel. Why do I feel like that is the end. A farewell at home. Just speculating.

Yeah it has all the ingredients for a Federer farewell in Basel.

Worried about Thiem. I know he is only just coming back, and we should be patient but that forehand is miles away from what it was. Nowhere near the speed and spin he was hitting pre-injury. Wrist injuries nust be a nightmare for tennis players.

Thiem strikes me as the one guy in the top 50 who could least afford a long injury break. He plays with so much intensity, trains so hard, his schedule was always absolutely packed compared to other top 10/20 players... it didn't seem to be sustainable even before the injury. Add to that that he just ticked off what must have been his defining goal with the USO shortly before he hurt himself and it must be pretty tough to find the drive to flog himself for months if not years just for the chance to get back to that level. His form even at the start of last year before the injury was nowhere near where it had been, and he was already talking about loss of motivation. Tbh I would not be at all surprised if he retires within 12 months.

Agreed, Thiem is not the same player at all, 3 matches into his comeback and hes been pretty average in all 3. The fact Millman was able to beat him pretty comfortably in his first match back says alot. Hope Thiem can find motivation but i doubt it

Madrid is looking like the best lineup we've had in R16 of a Masters since at least the start of covid. I like Musetti's game so nice to see him finding form again just in time for Rome and the French Open, which would have to be the biggest 2 tournaments on his calendar. I'd back him against the current version of Zverev on any claycourt but Madrid, but unfortunately think Zverev's serve gets him the win here unless he completely collapses. Still hoping for an upset.

Djokovic v Murray on at a friendly time for us down here , 8pm start, 1st on court for the day.

Nadal had a good start on his return from injury overnight, got pushed a bit in the 2nd set but looked really good.
