With the Bushies having just won there 7th in a row i thought it was time to offer a thorough description on the key players who have been responsible for this rare run of form.

I enjoy the many insightful posts on big footy but it is obvious that the majority of users are from the city and do not get a chance to comment accurately on the players from the Bushies as they are rarley seen.

Im from the Shepparton area and am an avid fan of the Bushies, i have seen them about six times this year and get reports on games missed.

Here are my thoughts on the guys who's names would have been thrown up at various clubs. There are quite a few in the list and of course not all will be drafted but in previous years where the club has been succesfull a lot of guys have been taken.

Criticisms welcomed, but here are my thoughts:

Ben McEvoy: 199cm, 90kg: the obvious top choice and most highly rated player at the club. Never out marked, fantastic on the floor, obviously a leader as VC captain. a genuine top tenner.

Dawson Simpson: 205, 97. super mover for his size, gets first hand on the footy consistently at stoppages. develooping around the ground, endless potential. near certain to go.

Ash Hockey: 181, 79: supreme midfilder of the group. oozes class and always uses the ball effectively. big enough motor, also quick enough. kicks goals and will be drafted, not sure of the number.

Ryan Normington: 185, 77: Much alike to hockey, better over head though. kicks the ball very effectively, particularly over long distances. good up forward and has a body with much development. top thirty.

Thomas Rockliff. 182. 82: New kid on the block, only played 7 games but has slotted straight in. predominatly up forward, but also midfield. movement not at full range due to leg injury that hampered pre-season. very smart, under 17 but is eligible. played vic 15's, 16's. r/up to scott selwood 15's b+f, for stacks up. rough show this year, top twenty 08.

Daniel Boyle: 184, 86: Quickest player in the squad. plays hb and has been creating a lot of dash. kicks the ball wonderfully, went to ss last year. been bog last two weeks and in best the two prior. good size, outside chance.

James Saker: 190, 85. u/19 player, second quickest in squad. playing key back and generally shuts down opponent. kicking is improving and drive is very important. not overly strong overhead. has light body but will fill out, late draft, more probable to be a rookie chance.

Matt Hebbard:187, 86. u/19 player backman, plays tall due to strength overhead. offers drive and always beats opponent. has ablity to go forward. kicks very well. late draft, rookie.

Tim McIntyre: 177, 74. hasnt been playing but came back with four goals v cannons. very strong, good balance and top notch skills. played for NSW with some success. late draft hope.

Dean Terlich: 186, 84: plays forward, very solid over head and has ability to find goals. skills bring otheres into game. has been out for a few weeks but played nationals,. late draft, rookie.

Matthew Deledio. 184, 82: Very strong bodied midfielder who is also more than capable up forward with great marking skills. kicking is up to standard, is a fine looking athlete with a brother in the big time, rookie chance.

God assessment . Probably a few other rough chances but would need to finish off the year well, would think that Luke Garland has easily been in good enough form over last 6 wks to be considered a rookie chance at least.

Sam Wright is a very good player, has injured his ribs and i've heard he is unlikely to return, this will probably see him miss out this year.

is a real talent, have seen him at interleague level where he was way too good but have only seen one or two of his games with bushies. great hands but only played up forward, may need an extra dimension ie: midfield. is very slight.

Luke Garland is a rough rookie show, ive seen him play CHF, quite short but has big engine. height is his issues, has most other attributes.

Walker is another i did not mention originally, very tall, very athletic. went to SS last year, would have to have clubs looking. Does fall in and out of games.

Not sure on Draft Camp guys, havent seen or heard much on it yet, i would assume at least the two ruckman would have got an invo...

Great rundown. I have a query on the comparison of Hockey and Normington. From what I've seen Hockey can win the footy in close whereas Normington is extremely outside?

Where will MCEvoy play at AFL level? - Not a genuine ruckman and slow for KPP.

Walker has all the attributes,Does seem to get some strange instructions about how to play from what ive heard at breaks ,Needs to lift intensity, Takes any more screamers like he did against Cannons and he will be looked at seriously.

I have watched the bushies closely over this season, although have missed a couple of games. The problem i think at the start of the year was the coaching staff didnt play the right kids in the right position. Since they have figured it out they have been a real show.

Fossil excellent review there on some players but i think you have only done the "named players". With the bushies good form theres a few players who it think have had a big influence and a bigger influence than some of those named players. A Few stats i would like to bring up on these players as they dont get as much credit and am wanting to know what you think about them where you think they will go wither this year or if ineligable next year if they do.

These stats arnt of the whole season only of there winning streak.

Kade Klemke: HBF, Averages; 12.5 Kicks, 5.6 Handballs, 18.1 possessions, 4 Handball Recieves ** Stats are only of 6 games not 7 as missed game v Bendigo**

Will Martinello: Rover, Averages; 13.7 kicks, 10.5 Handballs, 24.2 Possessions, 5 Handball Recieves, 7 Goals, 4.5 Tackles.

Tyson Warnett: Centre, Averages; 14.8 kicks, 8.3 Handballs, 23.1 Possessions, 8 Handball Recieves, 5 Goals, ** Stats are only of 6 Games not 7 as missed the Gippsland Game**

Thomas Rockliff (Has been mentioned): FF & RR; Averages; 10.8 kicks, 7.2 Handballs, 18 Possessions, 4.2 Handball Recieves, 27 Goals, 5.1 Tackles.

Matt Hebbard: HBF, Averages; 14.8 Kicks, 4.1 Handballs, 18.9 Possessions, 5.8 Handball Recieves, 5 Marks.

Theres just a few. What are your thoughts on these players?

Deledio started off well, still gets a bit of it now but doesnt grab me as a midfeilder, pace of the mark brings him down, suited and looks more comfortable up forward to me.

Boyle, yes he has pace, played well V Calder, Hasnt done much else to grab the attention of me though.

McIntyre Shows promise but doesnt handball to team mates running past, Height will hurt him, in my view.

has rocky made that big of a difference to the team? since he came in the boys havent lost a game, will he get drafted this year or will they wait till next?

also does anyone think will martinello will get drafted next year, seems to be ticking the right boxes at the moment

Yes Will does look like a good player for this or next years draft but i've been really impressed by Kade Klemke. Kade has got four bests in the last four weeks (1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd), he gets enough of the ball, takes some great contested marks and is rarely beaten in a contested situation if none at all.

The coach Peter Dean has even praised him a number of times for not being scared of taking risks and his physical work. I think he's only eligible for next years draft so he looks like a good prospect for next year.

Hey guys just wondering on your thoughts on the Bushrangers. I am from the country and heard they had a good win coming from behind to win. Who might get drafted this year and who stood out on the w/e.
