What is also alarming is people have a weird revenge dominating bent when it comes to this.

The politics of vengeance.

The Schapelle thing did it for me. DID SHE DO IT?/DIDN"T SHE DO IT? Very few paused and thought, hang on, 20 years for a bag full of freakin' plant material?! That's a bit OTT isn't it?!

Get used to the fact that you live in a nation that predominately consists of shallow undiscerning morons.

And a Government that doesn't represent your interests (regardless of how bogan) and will actively **** you given the chance.

this is a soap opera ....

CASSIE Sainsbury had no idea her mother and sister had signed a contract with a TV network to tell her story until News Corp asked about it.

The former personal trainer was shocked to learn about the controversial deal with 60 Minutes, for which her family had initially asked to be paid $1 million.

“My mum and sister haven’t told me anything of what they’re doing,” Sainsbury said of her mother Lisa Evans and sister Khala, who flew into Bogota.

“All I knew is that they were coming.”

Maybe there's a good get-rich-scheme in play here:-

Set up the least-liked and stupid member of the family as a drug mule.

If they get away with it - profit $$$$$$$$.

If they get caught - 'Oh No!', tears, cries for help, 60 Minutes, Women's weekly - profit $$$$. (Plus you don't have to deal with annoying family member for a few years).

I never do this - but was I right, or was I right:D:D:D:D:D

Meaning she could well be innocent. I don't know. 30-70 in my guess. Probably guilty. But let's say she is Paula Escobar minus the murder. What has she really done wrong?
Anyone who has to ask that question has no understanding of the impact of the drug trade on countries such as Columbia. The violence, corruption and misery that has devastated these places. If guilty she has contributed to it and I have zero sympathy for her.

Not every country is Australia and holds Australian beliefs. Everyone (well, I presume everyone) knows drugs and Asian law don't mix very kindly.
I have little sympathy for those who decide to roll the dice overseas and get caught.

That's one reason I think countries should stay out of another country's politics, mostly.

How could you deduce that my post had anything to do with a foreign country?

BTW, I note your attendance amongst the out of touch self righteous majority.

I can see that basic human rights mean nothing to you.
What's basic human rights in one country may be different in another country. Drug trafficking, for example, may cause incredible problems in some countries while not being an issue in others. BTW, is it a basic human right to traffic drugs? Do these people actually give a hoot about the damage they do? Think outside your little box.

You don't go breaking laws in foreign countries, that's just asking for trouble. Those that choose to go down this road AND get caught, deserve to be punished.

You would have made a good SS officer.

LOL, my "little box"?

You need to stay away from topics about which you are completely ignorant.

Your mentality sums up everything that is WRONG about democracy.

Yeah I call Godwin on you. You lose

You do realise the value judgement you make doesn't make another person right or wrong, nor does it make you right or wrong.

Bravo, an internet opinion is just an internet opinion.

Give yourself a medal.:thumbsu:

My real life experience is that persons that don't resort to masking vengeful and narrow minded thoughts behind throw away lines such as "because it's the law" (aka independent thinkers), are almost always very intelligent people. The politics of hate and vengeance belong to the ignorant. An ignorance that is highlighted by the overwhelming empirical evidence that such actions don't change one goddam thing as far as the actual big picture (aka A SOLUTION) is concerned.

Not sure its the 'politics of hate and vengeance' . Some people have definite views on things. That this thread is up to nearly 13 pages may have more to do with the gender rather than anything else. I would imagine a male doing this would have a 2 page thread about what a dumb campaigner he is.

Holy cow you have a high opinion of yourself.
