Thon should really be in the WC team though. Versatile 7 footer who was our best player at last year's Asia Cup (not great opposition, but still...). Not sure whether you take him as a 4 or 5, maybe as a bit of a combo big.

I’d like to think we have some on the horizon. Tyrese Proctor and Taran Armstrong are the ones in college that stick out.

From my limited viewing I can’t speak to armstrongs nba potential, but he looks like the kind of player who will adapt and absolutely kill it in international fiba competitions

Josh Green will be the gun 3 point shooter for the Boomers over the next decade. Josh Giddey will keep improving and be a very good shooter at international level (with the closer 3 point line) over the next decade too. When people talk about the Boomers long range shooting for the next World champs they underestimate how good Josh Green is already and how much better Giddey will likely be than Delly was at the last Olympics. I can't see how our 3 point shooting won't improve compared to recent years. Getting Ingles back on the court and contributing at NBA level probably underestimated in terms of our World Champ potential. Dante's been shooting great from 3 in recent times too. There is plenty of shooting depth if everyone's available.

I think we’ve got lots of good “pick their spots shooter”

I’m not sure we have the high volume outside shooters.

Josh Green is the man. In his third year he averaged slightly more points per game than Joe or Patty's career averages while hitting his threes at a percentage slightly over the career average of Patty and slightly under the career average of Joe. Ive watched a heap of Green this year. He will be absolutely elite for the Boomers coming off back screens. Proctor will be another great shooter from range long term too.

I also wouldn't underestimate the improvement in 3 point shooting for Dante Exum. He's been shooting the 3 at over 43% playing in a very high quality league.

Looks like something out of WWE or something. WTF was he thinking?

That is disgusting. Absolute bullshit that he only got 5 games.

Only a 5 game ban?
WTF????
What Incredulous GIF by MOODMAN

Interestingly Taran Armstrong has opted to sign a 2 year deal with the Cairns Taipans after it seemed fairly likely he’d be headed to Gonzaga.

5 games isn't that much but I think it's season ending? Max 3 games left in this series and then the final four is single game knock out.

But Llull starting it all and getting nothing is a bit rich.

Adam Forde at Cairns has a tremendous record in terms of player development. This could be a very smart move by Taran in terms of helping him get drafted to the NBA.

Yep I feel sick watching that clip and then reading the suspension was only five games.

Boomers draw Japan, Finland and Germany for the WC. Very good draw
I disagree. While we should beat them all, it’s a group of death in comparison to others.

Would really like to finish top, as our crossover group is Slovenia, Venezuela, Georgia and Cape Verde. Would like to avoid Slovenia and the other three are all (arguably I guess for Venezuela) easier opponents then all of our group opponents.

Careful what you wish for, we’ve never beaten Cape Verde.
