So we can agree Extinction Rebellion and Students for Palestine are disgusting people.

I'd suggest there's a small percentage of disgusting people in every group, including yours.

Your support for apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide is disgusting, for example.

Ah, this old chestnut. Cookers vs Police is like watching a brawl between Collingwood and Carlton.
This has been explained to you many times.

Meanwhile, you cheer for police brutality when Extinction Rebellion blocks an intersection because your shitty Ford overheats.
You don't make the grade to be a Holden fan, but welcome aboard, the more the merrier 😀

The cops were using kid gloves this week in Melbourne with the loonies compared to what they did during the Covid years! They need to get tougher with these disruptive, ignorant loons. The woman who put her arm in concrete in the back of a car should've been left there! They do this knowing that the free and privileged lifestyle we have here permits them to do so, so they flaunt it all. Next time the cops should be given free reign to reel these bozos in.

...

Just to clarify, are you saying the police should have free reign to treat the protesters as they wish?

This is your sincere, open opinion?

Absolutely in cases like this, these people were well out of order and we all pay for it...IMO the police were not tough enough! They were tougher during Dan the mans Covid protests than this weeks irresponsible and disgraceful protests. You can protest freely in this country, but it's getting out of hand. A lot of people hold to the idea that grassroots activism has to be spontaneous. That thousands of people become so angry and so motivated by the same issue that they all simply happen to gather at the same place at the same time with thematically consistent signs to make their voice heard. It wasn't the same issue! They were not just protesting a weapons expo, they were protesting a whole stack of other things too. IMO let the concrete set and leave them there...

You do realize your sentiment is not reflective of the liberal democracy we live in right?

Ok, I get that the 'disruptors' are annoying, none the less that shouldn't give licence for the force to be 'harder' as you put it.

The right to protest is a liberal democratic freedom that should be defended. Yeah I get that some protesters are not protesting 'peacefully', not the point. We can't as a society allow unfettered 'control of the public', because it's the antithesis of liberal democracy

Your sentiment has socialistic 'control the public' ideals about it.

Don't mind me too much, I write essays on some pretty niche shit sometimes.

The sophisticated mind likes simple things.
The simple mind....sophisticated things.

Maybe something to be aware of before starting your next tome to post on big footy.

Some chat about the Land Forces protests.

Bit of stuff about horses being used to kettle protesters:

Bashing a girl shepherding a priest in a mobility scooter, trying to pepper spray directly into her ear.

Crazy shit from the thugs.

His sentiment has nothing "socialistic" about it, but everything fascistic about it instead.
And fascism is an extreme form of capitalism.

However you wanna label it, controlling the public to the point of not allowing the right to dissent / disagree / protest is not at all liberal or democratic.

Probably should label it accurately if you're going to label it
