Add the generous tax concessions of negative gearing and the halving of the Capital Gains Tax and you have a problem.

Property prices have gone up ridiculously since 2000 when the change to CGT happened in 1999.

I certainly don’t have a problem with one and perhaps two investment properties but once you have more than two you are no longer just a passive investment property owner.
