Think most sensible observers realise we need to continue to use gas for the foreseeable future.
Cost of gas is significantly lower than Nuclear & it is available now & for decades to come unlike Nuclear.
Many continue to spout 100% renewable is just around the corner without explaining what generation system will provide base load power.
There is no way a legitimate costing can show Nuclear being cost competitive.
Wont even be close.
But the biggest issue is won't help us for decades!
We need solutions far, far sooner to address our growing demands.
What is the 'green' alternative? I'm all for pushing as green as we can get for power generation, I was an early adopter of solar.
Gas is still a fossil fuel that emits the bad stuff, what has been put forward to achieve base load green generation?
It's a shame the left shut down nuclear debate, would've been handy starting this 20 years ago when renewables started to take off.
100% renewables won't be an option in our lifetimes (if ever)
Renewables + gas = fossil fuel, need to phase out.
Renewables + nuclear = too expensive
Renewables + ???? =
