OK... I've done a little bit of investigation.

Here's the map of volcanoes in Indonesia:

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcanism_of_Indonesia

There are no volcanoes listed anywhere near the Gulf of Thailand or South China Sea. This suggests to me that the Gulf of Thailand should not be a tsunami risk.

Cyclones or Typhoons on the other hand...
Great map. Shows it all. I was employed in the Rayong area for 1 year about 20 years ago. I only recall 1 big storm in that time,
The amount of tuk tuks and vehicles with faulty mufflers is staggering.

This is just a stab in the dark but I think Adam Bandt might be full of shit.
Currently trying to be Albo's 2nd best friend, god help Australia if the ALP fall for his bullshit chumming up and Bandt is the difference between the ALP governing in a hung Parliament situation where the Greens wii cerainly demand their pound of flesh for their support. Either way the best result for Australia is either an ALP or LNP governing in their own right.

Doubt either will be able to form majority government.

It might change during the campaign but doubt it.

ALP will lose seats given they only have currently 78 seats whilst Coalition only has 55 and need 21 seats to be in majority.

I also suspect that if there's a full blown scare campaign run against nuclear power that it will most probably tip the scales against the LNP.

It's always been a contentious issue that people are often on the fence about. Australians have always been very risk adverse politically and it doesn't take much for them to vote to maintain the status quo.

Adam Bandt is a nasty piece of work.
The issue for me is do the Greens want to become a realistic 3rd party?

They have some good ideas, but way too many unrealistic ideas which will never happen.

The Democrats were more practical til they self-destructed.

Would be good to have a viable 3rd party in Australia.

I’m not sure how good Dutton will be on the campaign trail either - if he runs and hides that won’t be a good look.

ALP just need to point out the COL that Dutton and the Coalition has voted against.

ALP will lose seats but how many, who knows.

The Teal seats will be interesting.

What will their voters think of Nuclear?

Yep and it will go gangbusters the moment we go cashless (if we ever do).

I think it is destined to become illegal. Governments let it go because you could barely spend it. But now its becoming more in vogue, i dont think it will take long for governments to outright make it illegal. Will be interesting to watch.

I don’t think they can put the genie back in the bottle now.
Their best hope is regulating it somehow.

Dutton run and hide?

That has to top every clueless post you've ever made.

Not the Donald...

But how much longer do Governments want to have all these transactions occurring without financial controls.

If they do regulate, watch the price nosedive.

Meanwhile advancements in nuclear technology are ramping up big time and Australia is getting left behind.

Did you read the article?

Here are a few useful excerpts:
Nuclear fusion offers the potential of a near-unlimited power source without greenhouse gas emissions or much nuclear waste. However, scientists have been working on this technology for more than 70 years, and it's likely not progressing fast enough to be a practical solution to the climate crisis. Researchers expect us to have fusion power within decades, but it could take much longer.
... and
East is a magnetic confinement reactor, or tokamak, designed to keep the plasma continuously burning for prolonged periods. Reactors like this have never achieved ignition, which is the point at which nuclear fusion creates its own energy and sustains its own reaction, but the new record is a step towards maintaining prolonged, confined plasma loops that future reactors will need to generate electricity.
... and
The ITER reactor, which is being built in southern France, contains the world's most powerful magnet and will fire up in 2039 at the earliest. ITER will be an experimental tool designed to create sustained fusion for research purposes, but could pave the way for fusion power plants.

Nuclear Fusion - as distinct from Fission - has huge potential as a clean green power source, capable of providing massive amounts of power. However, for now at least, it remains in the realms of science fiction. Research continues, but they're still decades away (at the very least) from having a commercially viable reactor. Hell, the scientists haven't even managed to achieve a reaction yet which produces more energy output than the inputs required to get it started.

The same blokes that talk up battery technology improving knock nuclear technology advancements .....yeah OK.
