Mundine has lived in Sydney's North Shore for nearly a decade if you had cared to do any research.

Best piss off Cabinet Ministers Mark Dreyfuss and Don Farrell off if 68 years of age is a problem FFS. WTF!

And there are already in parliament and probably will retire in 2028 and have been in parliament for years. Dreyfuss and Farrell both since 2007.

They ain’t a first timer. You need to check your meds.

How's the cost of living expenses going for the voters?
Going to be a major election issue no doubt & rightly so.

How is getting each household to pay $32K each (conservative) for nuclear going to help?

I'm trying to reconcile the 2 issues you are so passionate about...

And in comes Lefty the "centrist" with his 2 shillings worth with something he says will not happen, commonly called a deflect.

Once again you failed to answer Bicks... which we know is your way.

How do you reconcile cost of living & government spending $32K per household on Nuclear which won't help for decades?

Centrist is way left of being conservative... ;) Anyone who isn't a conservative is a lefty to you. We have been over this before but you don't understand the concept of a swinging voter when you are a rusted on conservative.

How do you reconcile bringing something you claim will never, ever happen into a current cost of living crisis the country has been in and is still in under this useless Albanese ALP Government and treasurer grim Jim Chalmers.

And you know where you can shove that winking emoji you exhibit profusely in your postings.

Swinging voter LOL give it a spell Lefty.

This has been an issue worldwide and not just confined to Oz. Mind you the boomers are loving it, their interest rates are at decade highs and stock market at near record highs.

Albo has provided some COL and think interesting Dutton voted against every single measure.

Unemployment still at low levels, inflation down from the highs (6% when ALP came to office), workers getting better wage outcomes (especially aged care and child care).

Election campaign will be interesting.

Lol, you have a problem with winking when you are the thumbsdown king! So ok for you to give others emojis but you can't take them.

Everytime you ask me questions when we are discussing issues, I'm man enough to answer... but most of the time when I ask you a question, you refuse to answer & just deflect. Clearly this is because there is rarely any substance to your claims. I understand why you worship the likes of Trump because it's all bluster but no actual substance behind it.

I asked you a genuine question. We all acknowledge cost of living is a huge issue in Australia & you keep banging on about the coalition & Angus Taylor's economic credentials... so how do you reconcile them wanting to pay a minimum of $32K per household for nuclear? How do you think that will impact on our cost of living?

I don't expect you to answer as you don't have the balls for any meaningful political conversation. Happy to be surprised...

You use the wink emoji profusely in all your posts when anyone can work out you mean it seriously Lefty.

And that $32,000 you keep running off to as your huggy bear yet you question a whole team of Economists at Fontier Ecinomics who clearly dispute that number.

Both sides of the nuclear question the others numbers but of course your team is right and the other wrong....that clearly defines where you are Politically Lefty.

The $32K figure comes from Frontier Economics Bicks! Is their total cost divided by the number of Australian residents. Most have said this is a very low number, so it's likely to be even higher!

So how do you think evey Australian households servicing an extra $32K will impact on their cost of living? You keep refusing to answer...

Given you have used many more thumbsdown emojis than anyone else on the Adelaide Board, it's pretty rich complaining when others use them! Clearly you can give criticism but you can't handle been given it. Perhaps think about your own posting style then if you have such a thin skin...

You keep running with this argument despite stating there is absolutely zero chance Australia is going down the nuclear pathway so it's irrelevant to any argument and has nought to do with the current cost of living crisis Australian households are struggling with under this incompetent ALP mob headed up by Upgrade Albo and grim Jim Chalmers. it's classic deflect on your part.

Best go check my posting Lefty I don't use emoji's in posts anywhere near as much as you especially the wink wink bullshit.

Lol, it's well known you use emoji, particularly thumbsdown more than any other poster... so what makes you so special that you can use them, but others can't?

Once again you refuse to answer how adding $32K debt for each household to service helps our cost of living...

Are you in favour of bigger deficits & improved standards of living?

The answer is according to you nuclear will never happen in Australia so it's irrelevant,

Cost of living crisis is real and happening right now with little prospect this incompetent ALP mob have any answers or solutions other than handing out borrowed money which omly adds to the debt fast approaching $1 trillion $$$$'s

Australia currently has almost A$900 billion of outstanding government securities on issue.

The 2023–24 Federal Budget forecasts further increases in Australia’s gross debt to A$1.067 trillion (36.5 per cent of GDP) by the end of the 2026–27 financial year.

How bad does it need to get before grim Jim and Upgrade Albo extract their digits and do something positive against the cost of living crisis happening on their watch.

Australian school students going without food, uniforms and educational essentials

A new survey shows the rising cost of living is putting Australian parents under financial stress when buying essential school items.

Every day, Wayne Muir and his partner Michelle Maxey face the trauma of having to send their 15-year-old son Ross to school without any lunch.
“Due to the rising cost of living, we can’t afford to buy a lot of food,” Mr Muir says. “Ross rarely takes food for lunch because we don’t have enough.”
School uniforms and equipment are also a problem. “School essentials are a huge part of every family’s budget but between uniforms, shoes and all the necessary supplies he needs to get by, it’s becoming less and less affordable.”
Mr Muir is not alone – results from The Smith Family’s annual Pulse Survey highlight the severity of education inequality and the barriers faced by children living in families experiencing poverty.
The survey revealed the biggest financial areas of concern for parents and caregivers were digital devices for schoolwork, educational activities outside of school, internet access at home, uniforms or shoes and school excursions.
“Poverty can have a profound and damaging effect on a child’s educational outcomes, with long-term consequences for their health, career and life prospects,” The Smith Family CEO, Doug Taylor, said.
“It’s alarming to hear so many families are concerned about not being able to afford what children need for their learning this school year.”

Since 2019, Ross – who lives with ADHD and autism – has been supported by the charity’s flagship Learning for Life program, receiving financial and educational support to help navigate the complexities of modern school life and keep up with his peers.
“The support we receive from The Smith Family makes a huge difference,” Mr Muir said.
“It means he can focus on being a kid, going to school and not having to worry about how we are going to afford to pay for everything he needs so that he fits in.”
The Smith Family is launching its Back to School Appeal, aiming to secure sponsors to support another 15,000 students nationally through the Learning for Life program.

Good work if you can get it in the SA public service.

Data shows 118 ‘excess employees’ worked in the public sector last financial year – the highest annual figure in a decade

SA taxpayers are shelling out at least $11m for public servants to sit in a government workforce “waiting lounge”, an official report reveals. Join the conversation or vote in our poll.

South Australian taxpayers are shelling out millions of dollars for more public servants to complete menial – or zero – work in a state government workforce “waiting lounge”, an official report reveals.
Latest data shows 118 “excess employees” worked in the public sector last financial year – the highest annual figure in a decade – 94 of those being without work for more than nine months.

While the salaries of excess employees are not disclosed, the average public servant salary in 2023-24 was $95,587, meaning a taxpayer bill for idle workers would be almost $11.3m but may be even higher. The number of taxpayer-funded workers sent to what has been dubbed the public service “waiting lounge” hit 150 workers in 2014, it fell to just 11 in 2018-19 before climbing every year since.

Sanity coming back to Australia slowly.
I most like this part.
"The poll also found that a whopping 86 per cent of respondents that they were “proud to be Australian”,

I wonder who the 14% were that are not proud.

"Australia Day poll conducted by the Institute of Public Affairs reveals support for celebration

A new poll shows it is “clear that mainstream Australians have had a gutful” of anti-Australia Day sentiments, with a majority supporting celebrating our national day on January 26. Have your say in our poll

This figure was up six points from last year, when 63 per cent of Australians said they supported celebrating the holiday on January 26, marking the arrival of the First Fleet at Port Jackson in 1788.

Among Australians aged 18-24 the swing was even larger.

In 2024 just 42 per cent of Australians in that age group polled by the IPA said they supported celebrating on the 26th.
This year, that figure shot up to 52 per cent, meaning that every age bracket polled now supports Australia Day staying where it is on the calendar.
The poll also found that a whopping 86 per cent of respondents that they were “proud to be Australian”, while 68 per cent agreed that Australia has “a history to be proud of”.

Most of that trillion $$$ debt belongs to the Coalition and not all of it has to do with Covid either.

And how do you and your Coalition mates propose to deal with the COL crisis?

Perhaps throw people out of work by generating a recession?

Very good with motherhood statements but **** with actions.

Lets be honest hear, Mr Potato Head has voted against social housing, reducing immigration, COL measures in the last parliament session.

And then he comes up with a nuclear policy which won’t do a thing for the next 15+ years but only add to that national debt you keep banging on about.

Lets hear the detailed policies that he proposes to implement.

As I’ve said, you should just stick to the land which you do know about.

And the playbook for the Murdoch and Nine Entertainment Group is bleeding obvious - just keep on whinging until you get the government they want.

Cost of living can be improved by going back into deficit.

Since Costello the coalition have had a higher proportion of deficits v ALP... so perhaps their preference is to improve cost of living with higher deficits?

When Angus Taylor claims to be better at managing the economy, what does he mean by this? What would he do differently?

The point of deficits is for the government to provide when necessary like Covid-19, even though some of it wasn’t well thought thru - ala jobkeeper. Jobkeeper itself wasn’t bad but there were no rollback provisions if a company actually didn’t require it.

If the government didn’t spend like it has the last couple of years, we would be in recession and many thousands would be out of work ie unemployment rate would go up.

Interesting - ICE are going to be dead and might be quicker than we think

Nissan and Honda merging is the start of the transition.

I’m sure Mr Potato Head will do a Scott Morrison on this tho.

LOL merging LOL

Renault baled knowing Nissan was faaaaarked..

Nissan was going belly up before Honda stepped in and came to the rescue!!!

Japanese carmakers Honda Motor and Nissan Motor is exploring a mega merger, which will also involve Mitsubishi Motor, in which Nissan is the top shareholder with a 24% stake. The merger would see Honda management taking a leadership role in a newly formed formed Japanese holding company by 2026. Make no mistake – this deal is nothing but to keep Nissan from going bust.

Agreed. The big question is whether Nissan take Honda down with them now.
