So Dutton isn't copying some of Trump's ideas...

It's doubtful that Musk won't try & influence the next Australian election... & probably already discussed plans with Reinhardt.

Gina is one of the Mr Potato Head’s friends and given she was at Mar-a-Lago it doesn’t take much to join the dots.

Then you have Sussan Ley with this corker. She literally is as “dumb as a sack of rocks”. Can be on the first ship to Mars?

$3.5 Billion well spent...hardly...Another cost to the ballooning debt caused by Labor's headlong rush into renewables...

Ridiculous that the uber wealthy and well off also got the $325 with so many living below the povert line, a case of putting a bandaid on a gaping wound.

David Pocock calls universal support "ridiculous"

The full package of energy bill relief, which also includes $325 in bill relief for a million small businesses, costs $3.5 billion. It will apply to bills in the 2024-25 financial year.

It will first require legislation, which the Coalition has signalled it will support despite Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor accusing the government of taking a "bandaid" approach to cost of living pressures rather than addressing the underlying causes of inflation.

But the Greens and independent senator David Pocock have been more critical.

Senator Pocock told the ABC it was "ridiculous" to make the measure universal.

"I think maybe politicians are just out of touch. We've got three million Australians living in poverty in this country, and you're going to give me and other politicians on six figure salaries $300," he said.

"It doesn't make sense to me."

Grattan Institute CEO Aruna Sathanapally agreed the measure was not "well-targeted", suggesting this was not the optimal way to design cost-of-living relief.

ACOSS chief executive Cassandra Goldie said the energy bill relief, combined with the universal tax cuts announced earlier this year, made for a "gaping hole" in the budget.

"The government is deliberately and cruelly denying people receiving unemployment payments decent income support … The $300 energy rebate will be the only cash support the majority of people on JobSeeker and Youth Allowance will receive."

You have already been called out the national net debt is not increasing as you keep saying. Gross debt is not net debt but I don’t expect someone with your limited financial acumen to understand that concept at all.

You are going back over to May last year - you have no new material. Noticed you don’t attach the link so here it is

Nice one ALP, a violent criminal detainee released by the High Court on Labor's dumpster fire shambles watch continues to commit violent crimes even when given a second chance. Do your job Mark Dreyfuss and deport the lowlife scum.

Suspected former Apex gang member among growing number of released detainees charged with criminal offences

A man who was allegedly part of the notorious Apex street gang then freed from immigration detention following a High Court ruling has been accused of being involved in a terrifying attempted home invasion.

A suspected former member of the notorious Apex street gang freed from immigration detention following a landmark court ruling has been accused of committing further crimes.
The Herald Sun can reveal the hoodlum, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is among the growing number of released detainees who have been charged with criminal offences since the High Court set them free in November 2023.

He was facing deportation to Sudan after having his visa cancelled when sentenced to 16 months in youth detention for a violent carjacking in which he held a sawn-off shotgun to his victim’s head.

Now 27, and having been given a second chance at turning his life around in Australia, police allege he was involved in a terrifying attempted home invasion months after being given bail for allegedly handling stolen goods.
He is accused of being among a group of men who surrounded a home in Melbourne’s southeast, climbing on the roof and smashing in the windows in a terrifying ordeal for the residents bunkered down inside.

It is alleged the offenders armed themselves with a hammer and angle grinder.

The shocking details emerged in the Supreme Court last week as the thug desperately applied to be released back on the streets pending his court case.
The accused has been charged with attempted aggravated home invasion, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ jail.

He is also facing two counts of criminal damage, three counts of unlawful assault and a possession of cannabis charge.

News of his release from immigration detention back into the community – and his subsequent arrest – outraged the family of one of his past victims.

“I feel sick,” the mother, whose son went on to take his own life after he was the victim of the terrifying armed carjacking, told the Herald Sun.

“Because of him, I don’t have my son.

“He doesn’t deserve to be here.”
He was among hundreds of criminals who were cut loose on the nation’s streets after the High Court ruled a stateless Rohingya man, known only as NZYQ and convicted of child sex abuse, could not be indefinitely detained.

A year on from the ruling, which threw the immigration detention system into chaos, Home Affairs officials told a Senate estimates hearing in November at least 215 detainees had been released.

Of those, 65 had gone on to be charged with state and territory offences as of October 18 last year.

You obviously gloss over the fact that countries like Britian and even the State of California's electricity prices have increased threefold since they went down the 100% renewables path.

Similar is happening in Australia with pensioners and low income families that can no longer afford to put the heater on in freezingly cold days or to even think of turning on the air conditioner on stinking hot days if they have one of course and still afford essentials like food on the table, rent etc.
Things that those better off like you and me take for granted. That obviously doesn't come into your renewables equation.
So which electricity sources cost the most?

It's almost like you still don't realise that renewables are cheaper & don't recognise that most of the old coal power stations are coming to an end...

Ask your mates Malinauskas and Koutsantonis , they're the ones that's just sought the permission of AEMO to bring the 2 mothballed dirty diesel generators if and when required. Doesn't sound like they're too confident to me.

And yet another detainee released under Labor's shambolic high Court stuff up.

How many more to come I wonder..

Emran Dad, 33, preyed on children within a month of being released from immigration detention

It can be revealed a former ringleader of a child exploitation gang was jailed after admitting to multiple breaches of his reporting obligations as a registered sex offender.

The former ringleader of a child exploitation gang preyed on children online within a month of being released from immigration detention.
The Herald Sun can reveal Emran Dad, 33, was last year jailed for six months after admitting to multiple breaches of his reporting obligations as a registered sex offender.

The convicted pedophile’s phone and internet use had been restricted, and he was not to have contact with minors without police approval.

But soon after being released in November 2023 following the High Court ruling against indefinite detention of asylum seekers, he created email, TikTok, Instagram and Bigo accounts and started talking to underage girls.
His six-month punishment meant he was under the 12-month sentence threshold which immediately activates deportation.

The Herald Sun understands he has been charged again over family violence and visa breaches since his release from prison.

Getting whipped up into a frenzy again. How many has it been so far? Is this a current story or just another old story you are regurgitating?

He was required to be released by a High Court decision and the Herald Sun “understands” - so has he or hasn’t he, what is with this “understands”.

These sorts of individuals are going to re-offend, it is what they do. Solve the cause, you then solve the problem.

LOL

Spin whatever way you like it was a monumental **** up by Dreyfuss when he should have left it well alone and then that useless excuse for an immigration Minister Andrew Giles totally ****ed it up..To Albanese;s credit he pissed Giles off eventually.

Why do you have this innate ability not to answer a question when it is asked of you?

DD is copping it from all angles now. Being personally sued and the Hun won’t let this one die down. So many unanswered questions from DD, his wife and VIC police including why no bretho done in a serious collision and how in the heck he was allowed to dive a clearly unroadworthy car home just minutes after the accident as his “kids were distressed”. Slater and Gordon also serious questions marks after receiving low compensation for the victim and with their links to Victoria’s ALP

Catherine Andrews has always maintained she was behind the wheel at the time of the crash, but was not breath-tested. There are also questions over how police investigated the incident and why Mr Andrews drove the damaged SUV away from the scene.

Ryan has always insisted the  car was “speeding” and “seemed to come out of nowhere” when he was struck 17m from the Melbourne Rd-Ridley St intersection, contradicting the Andrews’ claims they came to a “complete stop” and “turned right from a stationary position”, “moments” before the collision.

Another rip off in the guise of climate change/carbon emissions

Yeah electricity prices will become cheaper Bowen said and continues to push when the opposite is the case.

New electricity meters can add up to $800 to power bill

Smart meters being rapidly rolled out in the push to slash carbon emissions could be “enabling a rip-off”. See what this means for you.

Exclusive: New electricity meters being rapidly rolled out in the push to slash carbon emissions are “enabling a rip-off”, according to an economics professor that federal Labor appointed to the Climate Change Authority.
University of Queensland’s John Quiggin told this masthead many households with smart meters had been moved to demand tariff power plans that were “just crazy.”

NSW’s Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has found demand tariffs can add up to $800 a year to annual bills if consumers have high use during the late afternoon or early evening.

Demand tariffs carry an extra charge typically calculated on the heaviest half-hour of consumption between 2 and 8pm or 3 and 9pm on a single day, multiplied by the days in the month or even longer.

Interesting, 2 sides to every coin.

$300b bill: Cost of renewable energy revealed

The cost of solar, wind, batteries, hydro and gas assets will be about 30 per cent more expensive than the current system, new research suggests. See why.

Exclusive: Wholesale electricity prices are about 30 per cent more expensive in a system mainly reliant on intermittent renewables versus power from the existing coal-dominated system, according to new modelling by a leading academic who also runs a government-owned energy business.
The research by Paul Simshauser of Queensland’s Griffith University suggests the cost of solar, wind, batteries, hydro and gas assets needed to get close to net zero will be about $300 billion in today’s dollars compared to the current system’s worth of $136bn.

The price of wholesale electricity from a market dominated by mostly green sources would be more than $130 a megawatt hour. The present cost is about $100/Mwh, the researchers say.
Before the last election, Anthony Albanese vowed to lower household power bills by an average of $275 by 2025 if Labor won government. Instead, in most areas, they have risen by vastly more.

Asked by a reporter on Tuesday whether it was time to concede the pledge was not going to be delivered, Mr Albanese bristled: “You get to do the questions, I get to do the answers. That’s the way it works.”

In October, Australian Energy Market Operator CEO Daniel Westerman conceded there was no guarantee the transition to renewables would lead to lower power bills.

In their new research, Professor Simshauser and Cambridge University’s Joel Gilmore, say: “Decarbonising our power systems requires coal plant to exit and be replaced by intermittent renewables, along with a diversified fleet of flexible firming plant capacity (namely) batteries, pumped hydro (and) gas turbines.

“The outstanding renewable investment task is very material,” the duo write.

More Albo/Bowen bullshit...Not hydrogen, not Gas but dirty Diesel.

‘Fiasco’: Albo can’t deliver on green promise for Hunter Power Project

A new power plant that Anthony Albanese vowed would receive $700m in extra funding so it could be fuelled by green hydrogen “from the beginning” has not received any of the money.

A new power plant that Anthony Albanese vowed would receive $700 million in extra funding from taxpayers so it could be fuelled by green hydrogen “from the beginning” has not received any of the money and is instead running on diesel.
In 2021, federal government-owned Snowy Hydro Limited was commissioned by the then Morrison Coalition government to deliver a 660 megawatt gas-fired Hunter Power Project near Kurri Kurri in NSW. The goal was for it to open in 2023, ahead of the closure of AGL’s Liddell coal-fired power station.

Labor initially criticised the $600m project as expensive, unnecessary and “a cynical attempt to … continue the climate wars.”
But in the lead up to the March 2022 election the ALP changed tune, promising to provide an extra $700m to move “beyond gas to … green hydrogen” so the plant didn’t become “stranded in an increasingly renewable energy system.”

Mr Albanese said the plant would be “run by gas but with 30 per cent green hydrogen from the beginning”. The aim was to be using 50 per cent hydrogen by 2025 and 100 per cent by 2030.
But nearly three years on from the announcement, none of the $700m has been provided, this masthead has confirmed.

Meanwhile the plant recently began commissioning, running solely on diesel.

Under its original environmental approval, the plant was permitted to operate for a maximum of 1150 hours a year, with 10 per cent of that allowed to be on diesel.

But at a Senate Estimates hearing last month, Snowy CEO Dennis Barnes said permission to run on diesel for 1150 hours a year had been sought.
The plant will use diesel until at least March when gas should become available.

“We’ve not conducted any activity to source hydrogen,” Mr Barnes told the Estimates hearing.

Asked about the timeline for running on 30 per cent hydrogen, Mr Barnes replied: “We are not currently executing that project.”

Been on this for ages.

5.00 pm , battery half charged and my smart meter had anticipated we had enough storage to get us through
the night so was exporting 2 kw @ 2cents feed in.
Ended up buying in plenty @ 48 cents until the Sun came up.

I’m looking into it as I think it’s a default option you can withdraw from which came in place with the meter
but not certain.

Absolutely they are ripping us off with these, with alinta for example the daily supply charge is more with a smart meter also those who use majority of power in the peak period the bill is greater than the single lower rate. For those without a smart meter.
I only got one as I thought we had to.

Mutineer Bicks is this what your seeing in Victoria

Premier Jacinta Allan has been unable to reverse a now ingrained downward polling trend

Victorian Labor is in a death spiral and if polling trends continue, Jacinta Allan’s government faces a catastrophic electoral wipe-out.

Surely with figures like that the Libs couldn't FU this time.

TDS lives in Victoria. I hope the book gets thrown at the owner.

CAP BAN A MAGA DEAL

popular St Kilda venue in Melbourne has come under fire after it threatened to kick out a regular patron if he refused to take off his red Donald Trump MAGA cap. Angelo Notta, 45, was celebrating a friend’s birthday at Captain Baxter on Australia Day when he was approached by the venue manager and told to remove the cap which famously reads “Make American Great Again”.“I … sat down at a table and probably 10 minutes in the venue manager came up to me and said, ‘I need you to remove your hat’,” Mr Notta said.“I said ‘since when is there a no hat policy’ but he said ‘it’s not that, it’s what’s on the hat’. He said that it was inciting ‘political trouble’. "I was told I needed to remove it or I’m going to be kicked out. I was embarrassed. I was getting quite upset. "It’s just stupid to be getting offended by a hat. Everyone has a right to having an opinion, respectfully, without the fear of being cancelled. It’s basically like we’re bowing down to a minority. "Not wanting to cause a scene, Mr Notta took the hat off. He said the ordeal had left a “bad taste” in his mouth. Captain Baxter and its owner Melbourne Hospitality People have been contacted for comment

Edit : And while your at the preferred PM polls over that same period.

Seems Australians aren't blinded by your bullshit, they're living the experience under this ALbanese/Grim Jim/Bowen/ALP Government and they ain't enjoying it.
