When you get introduced to someone and then your mate leaves, leaving you there with a person you've just met just asking pointless questions about them to keep the conversation going.

What's even better is ignoring the mate and turning away when he tries to introduce you to someone new, thus making them feel awkward to each other. :thumbsu:

As I am not usually inclined to make small talk with complete strangers, I find this extremely awkward. It would be rather campaignerish to just walk off, as I want to do.

{The name "Spider Burton" crops up in a conversation}

Me: He'd have to be the most useless prick ever to go on a footy field. Honestly, he's hopeless, can't do anything... (etc.)

Other person: Yeah, he's been my best mate since primary school.

Me: ...

Had a similar situation. Mate's old man played a few games for the dogs. He took me into the past players section one game and the convo went something like this:

Me: Geez you had some dud players in your time.
Him: Who like?
Me: Kinglsey Hunter, Simon Minton Connell * few other players*
Him: Year Minton Connell was a bit shit, he played for a heap of teams as well.
Me: Tell me about it, absolute dud.

*Bloke infront turns around*
Bloke: Hi, I am Simon, how many more games have I played compared to you?

Me + mate:

Thinking about it we shouldn't have been rubbishing dogs players in the past players area, but what are the chances!

when you go to the urinal at a public place like the footy or a pub, and nothing comes out...you sort of think **** do i just stand here holding my dick waiting for something or walk away and come back later, which would be weird if anyone noticed

I haven't pissed in a urinal for nine years because It simply won't come out if I try and use one . Whats that condition called again? I know I've heard the name somewhere,

Kind of the same thing, but not at all. Me and a mate were at the strippers watching some bird when he realised that she worked with him during the day. He later told me they had a few awkward eye contact moments but no one brought anything up.

She can't have been much of a stripper, then!

You can't be drinking enough beer then.

I once fell asleep during a lecture at uni and my **** of a mate who was sitting next to me picks up my phone and texts 'I want you in and around my mouth' to a number of people in my contacts list. When I woke up he told me what he did, and I realised that he had sent it to my boss at the time.

I got a phone call from my boss about 10 minutes after the lecture had finished and when I picked it up he goes, 'what's all this about you wanting me to stick my dick in your mouth?'

I told him what happened but man it was awkward, luckily he saw the funny side of it!

The real question is, are you still mates with him?

I'm in an awkward situation at the moment.

A friend of mine who I personally don't feel as close to anymore still thinks we're really good friends and wants to hang out..and I just don't want to..and it becomes very awkward when she asks to hang out and I don't know what to say or how to say no nicely. To make matters worse she used to have feelings for me and there's just...awkwardness there..
