Not a lot of positives. First quarter and a half was pretty good but honestly never seemed totally dominant, despite the scoreboard. Once Gold Coast got on a run, never looked like winning.

Doedee was a huge loss - really needed another competent defender down back in that third quarter, plus whatever leadership and organisation he offers. Hinge wasn't really up to that role.

Thought Soligo was really bad, his worst game I can remember him playing and wouldn't be surprised if he goes back to the SANFL next week for someone. Poor games from Rankine and Sloane as well.

In terms of positives, Keays was really good and the tagger to half forward role he's been playing is a pretty useful one. As good as Rowell was, kept him to 15 touches while having 25 himself and two goals.

Also liked Thilthorpe when he went forward in the third, competed really well and really does look like he could be a great forward one day, just doesn't have consistent influence throughout games.

Liked Milera and Fogarty's games as well.

THE UMPIRING DIDNT COST US NINE CONSECUTIVE GOALS AGAINST A s**t TEAM
It’s hard to look past the umpiring. It was so bias and pathetic. As I said. There were a lot of sub par performances, but when the umpiring is that horrid and costs you goals it’s hard to see anything else.

Wouldn't a player like Noah Anderson be handy?

Ugly that every time I gain a bit of faith in this team they shatter it the next week.

The emotional rollercoaster sucks. Rather be terrible every week than this clinging on to hope of becoming something.

At least West coast fans can comfortably watch games with a whatever happens happens type attitude.

I wish I could say I am comfortable watching our games… There is no comfort or enjoyment at all.

I enjoy watching the AFC. A disappointing loss, but your best football is brilliant and when you can sustain it and take that form consistently on the road, look out. Still a young developing team with a lot of growth and potential. Don’t lose faith :)

I would rather be where we are this year than the last 3-4. Unfortunately we just aren't a good travelling side yet, it's going to take time. Our AO form seduces into thinking we're a bit better than we actually are.

I'm sure there will be some whinging about the umpires and the ground costing us

But you can't concede 9 goals in a row against a mid table side like Gold Coast and expect to win. It starts and ends there
It starts and ends in our midfield.. like it always has..

back to thinking keays and sloane are the answer.

they got creamed. Couldnt win a centre clearance to save themselves.. And the suns put 9 goals on us.

then they finally put Pedlar back in there and we win the very next centre clearance.

that loss is once again on the crack whore Nicksy who is still addicted to the sloane/laird/keays drug.

Laird was disgusting.. can anyone actually say he had a positive impact tonight?.. yet he gets a free kick in here week in week out.. some morons even reckon he’s an A grader.

Rowell is an A-grader.. laird isnt even an A-Graders arseh*le..

That 50m penalty was an absolute disgrace. Had a big impact on the momentum in the game.

A few of our boys should probably look at other career opportunities in the near future.

Good
Jones?
Keays. Mostly.
Milera. Again, mostly.
Smith.?
Fogarty?

Bad
Sholl. Soft.
Butts. Not good enough.
Rankine. Not getting it done.
Laird and Dawson. Downhill skiers.
O'Brien. I've had enough.
McHenry. Not good enough.
Sloane. Get him to 250 then retire him. He's cooked.

Ugly
GC kicking 9 unanswered goals against us.
Can't win away from home.
Nicks putting Keays and Sloane in the middle when we were getting slaughtered and expecting a good time.
Nicks putting Murray in the ruck.
Trust in this team.
Umpiring
Commentary. Kelly should be sacked.
Having to play at venues like this 4 times in 2 months.
Laird and Dawson😲

I said it in the match thread. Why weren’t we wearing our white strip? It was so bloody hard to distinguish players. Doedee was a huge loss for us. We are no where near as good as we think. I just felt this loss was a matter of giving up. When things were going our way, the boys had plenty of energy. When we started losing the battle, the players looked beat across the ground. This was a really bad loss
Navy is just about as far from red as white is.

Good - first half decent pressure game and scoring enough to set up the game.

Bad - 9 consecutive goals by Suns.

Ugly - 9 consecutive frees by umps in last quarter (rough guess) for every 50/50 call. Including the biggest BS 50m penalty of them all, against Jones for overstepping the mark by 5cm.

- being so pumped, hoping for a come back in the 4th, only to be deflated by the umps who completely took over the game. Feels worse than ugly.

Where's that damn "we're handing back the license" thread.

Nowhere near being a genuine top 4 team.

Keays – c’mon enough is enough. Seriously talentless footballer. The momentum killer.

Midfield is C grade. No young A graders on the list. Pointless blowing big dollars on half back flankers.

If having to play in Darwin isn't bad enough we have to endure Kelly #$@#$ Underwood.

Umpiring - woeful.

Soligo – young but very inconsistent. Worrying.

Apart from Worrell, who should come straight back in, the depth cupboard is bare.

Keays kept us / got us back in the game.

Blaming keays is ridiculous.
Keays had some brilliant moments and is a warrior but he also went at 36% DE and his direct opponent got a game high 10 clearances

Giving up massive leads twice on the road to bad teams in the same season suggests something is wrong.
This. Yes, huge problem.
The coaching staff can't keep the team playing when they feel the opportunity to coast?
So, arrogance/hubris?? I don't know.
Scorpus (above) made a very good point above about GCS' NINE consecutive goals .
3 before half-time, 6 after, wtf?
This is on Nicks and his assistants --- gotta stop runs like that.

Dawson battled hard but he was made a lot of poor mistakes too, didn't play the conditions very smart trying to do too much at times. Stat sheet looks good but disappointing.
Nah I’m okay with his game, needed to do quite a bit of heavy lifting with Laird and Sloane having stinkers

We just couldn’t compete with Rowell/Anderson
