If Sunbury win the 2011 flag they will be crowned the best team since the Eastern Bloc teams joined the sinking BFL. They will be tied with Redan with 5 flags but will break the deadlock by playing in more Grand Finals. A great result for Sunba. Redan will stay in 2nd and Melton 3rd. Having 1 Ballarat team in the top 3 is awesome.
Shouldnt have scumbury won the last 3 grannys. Wouldnt be crowing yet champ. They always choke come sept

Played pretty good attacking footy, ran North off their feet. Find it amusing that all those smug Darley cohorts are rarely posting on here now. Why is that ? I suppose you will be talking up the next local derby and what you are gonna belt the Marsh by as usual. It has always been boring but I must admit, i am missing the smugness. Come on boys get up and about about how much better than every other side in the comp you really are !! Oh yeah thats right, your struggling. probs wont even get to read this because you would all be sulking away in a corner.

Can't believe how lippy darley are considering haven't won a game atleast something decent will come out of darley park this year and it was mark of the year hope baccaus beat yas next week and u don't get a sniff of winning a game this year
I would think it would be on Darley, probably one of the last opportunities for them to get a win for the year, never a good thing for a club to go through the season winless, makes it hard attracting recruits and the like even if you have money to burnSeems like it. All the pressure on the Marsh this week, should be a good game.
To try and liven this thread up I will denote a team of the year so far.
BP: Drew Edwards (Darley) - Extremely tough competitor, is tough one on one and is one of the better leaders in the comp.
FB: Malcom Niblett (Sebastopol) - Young solid defender who is rock solid one on one. Is solid with skills and makes minimal mistakes.
BP: Daniel Velden (Bacchus Marsh) - Could play key back but is exceptionally quick and has closing speed rivalling Dustin Fletcher. Not the greatest skills but knows his limitations.
BF: Matthew Notman (Melton South) - Young and Talented running defender, is very creative of Half back.
CHB: Luke Brennan (Ballarat) - former AFL player who physically over powers smaller players. There is a reason he didnt make it in the AFL, but is a quality BFL footballer.
BF: Brett Chambers (Sunbury) - Is a quality defender who is tough one on one and is very good running out of the back line. Is suited to play on the third tall, but is very versatile.
W: Jay Cheep (Sunbury) - Very good runner who is very exceptional on the link, quality skills also.
C: Jarrod Edwards (Redan) - If you dont know how good this guy is you havent seen much BFL footy. His kicking does let him down a smidgen and is probably the reason he didnt go further with his footy, but his work rate, contested ball is exceptional.
W: Adam Sewell (Ballarat) - Hard working smart midfielder who is always in the right places.
HFF: Ben Taylor (Lakers) - extremely classy player, not super quick or strong, but knows his way through traffic and has a very good eye for goal.
CHF: Paul Mcmahon (Lakers) - Very classy player, who has a high workrate, great hands and goalkicking prowess. With Dan Jordan limited by injuries is probably the star player of the competition.
HFF: Cameron McCabe (Sunbury) - A very good goalsneak who probably compares to Didak a bit, very clever with the footy in hand.
FP: Damian Horbury (Redan) - Young kid who has all the talent in the world, has the potential to dominate the competition if his mind is right.
FF: Matthew Sutton (Melton South) - The old guy still has it, will probably win the tony lockett medal this year, just a smart user of the body and a fantastic mark and kick for goal.
FP: Tyler George (North City) - Very quick and agile youngster who roves well in the foward line.
Ruck: Pat Cariss (Sunbury) - Best tap Ruckman, would struggle to lose more than 30 % of taps and puts it down the throats of the midfielders. Doesnt have the most influence in general play but does effectively play a kick behind the play.
RR: Tyson Shea (Bacchus Marsh) - Has been consistently fantastic this year even when faced with a heavy tag every week. Exceptional ball winner, and has a massive work rate. If he could kick a few more goals he would be the best midfielder in the competition.
Rov: Ben Jordan (Sunbury) - Has proven for years that he is the premier rover in the comp, exceptional work rate and ball winner and is very good as a link player.
I: Matt Bilton (East Point) - Very tough and quick inside midfielder, gets a lot of it although his disposal is a question mark.
I: Rhys McNay (Bacchus Marsh) - An undersized ruckman whose workrate and athleticism around the ground is tremendous. Has fantastic hands and can also play forward and in defence.
I: Jason McNamara (North City) - Experienced head who will contest all day, accumulates his possessions and has a high efficiency rate.
On the edge
Dan Jordan - injury free would be one of the first picked. Rumours have him heading to the CHFL next year which will be a big loss for the BFL
Ross Sleight
Doug Thomas
Matthew Battistelllo
Nathan Blomeley
At a guess I would say 40-45, each week at a minimum there have been 4 or 5 changes due to long term/short term injuries.I wonder how many players Darley have used this year in the ones? its good that they are blooding some youngsters, but you gotta be smart on how you go about it.
also mick malthousesome interesting names popping up to coach darley shane robertson wayne carey
Have it on good authority that Dan Jordan will be heading to Clunes for the 2012 season, deal is 90% done. Massive loss for East Point.
