what is going on with Melton South drums are beating
have a average of 20 players training for 3 sides word is they are in massive trouble
trying to fill sides let alone being competetive ? how can a club fall so hard in 12 months
someone has made some bad decisions wich could see the bfl loose a team b4 seasons start ?

the bloods will take Sulivan and Peters the rest can go and play at centrals
Sutts can play twos if fit / Dane can run water ???

Re: Ballarat FL 2010 - Part 1

Jarrod Edwards is playing for Redan. He may have gone out there to help former team mate Damian Lubeek.

Both Melton teams were beaten by RDFL sides - will be a long long season for these 2 teams. Some saying Melton South could be the worst team to play in the BalFL since the RDFL teams came into the league. South need to look at joining the RDFL or maybe Div 3 in the EDFL.

south will battle wont be the worst sebas may still hold that one ??
the bloods will be better undermanned on the weekend and cant wait until round one walk over grand final reunion look out for theat one ??

south has a new coach with no qualified help is the word from the players
a very long year ahead
dissapointing for everyone but the committee is working hard to get it right off the field
problem one ? on the field is whats starts the overall improvements maybe they should stop reading business instruction manuals and get on with football ?

I read on the RDFL site that Melton actually beat Romsey by 3 goals.

Sorry my mistake - still Romsey finished 6th in the RDFL last year. If Melton are thinking finals they should be putting a team like Romsey way by a lot more than 3 goals.

The question is, do they have the capacity to rebuild? Do they have any solid foundations to build on? Doesn't seem like there is much money or support for South.

Ex-Rooster to North City

FORMER Rooster and ex-Carlton listed player Clinton Benjamin has joined Ballarat Football League finals hopeful North Ballarat City as an 11th hour recruit.
The pacy midfielder-forward, who was cut from North Ballarat’s list at the end of last season due to a hip injury, was lured to the BFL black-and-whites by fellow ex-Roosters Tyler George and Ryan Luke.
Benjamin joins half a dozen former VFL players, including George and Luke, who will line up for North City this season.
North Ballarat City coach Rob Waters said the 22-year-old should excel at BFL level.
“At this level (Benjamin) is going to be a very good player,” Waters says. “He is able to run and carry the ball, and can play on the wing or he can play as a key forward. He will be a very difficult player to match up on.
“He’s a good size and is very quick for his height.
“Last year he missed out on playing finals with the Roosters, so he is very keen to have a real crack at it and hopefully play finals.
“Clinton is good mates with Tyler George and Ryan Luke, and they chased him up. They did all the work so I can’t take the credit (for recruiting him).”
Benjamin, who is recovering from a hip operation and will travel overseas, is expected to miss the opening rounds of the season.
The former Claremont (WAFL) player originally joined North Ballarat from Carlton’s VFL affiliate Northern Bullants when his brother Warren Benjamin was drafted by North Melbourne.
Warren Benjamin has since returned to Perth.
“In a perfect world we’ll have (Clinton Benjamin) from round four,” Waters said. “We have a bye in round three so that gives him a little more time (to recover).
“We’re very happy with who we’ve recruited. We had to update the list at the end of last season and most of the blokes we’ve got are local.”
North Ballarat City will play its next practice match this Saturday against Geelong Football League club Newton-Chilwell at North Ballarat’s number two oval. Former playing coach Aaron Clark is a chance to make his return for the match after recovering from ankle surgery.

Next year they will have 18 ex VFL types, and the BFL will do nothing. The Ballarat sides feared this would happen, and it will.
