Re: Ballarat Football League

I think you will find dirk that the chief was only big enough to pick on girls. His new theme song is a slight variation to an oldie

I fought the "girl" and the "girl" won ......:D

Another few that come to mind

Ballarat; Lucky Lucky Lucky - Kylie Minogue
Redan; I see red - Simply Red
Melton Sth; Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice
B Marsh; Dirty deeds done dirty cheap - ACDC
Lakers; Girls just wanna have fun - Cyndi Lauper
Sebas; Help is on the way - Little River Band

Last is the BFL response to shaggy
We didnt start the fire - Midnight Oil.

Cheers Big Ears

I see you know as much about music as you do football.
'I see Red' was a hit for Split Enz, and 'We didn't start the Fire' was penned and performed by Billy Joel.
Leave the jokes to the pros (Darley Rat, RIP Chief) and the music and football talk to those who know what they are talking about.
You just keep watching Hanah Montana and listening to those two ugly girls they call the Veronica's.

Looking at some of the pics I wouldn't think so. Are they playing cricket on that oval atm? certainly doesn't look fit for cricket, youo wouldn't want to slide in the outfield.

Given that they have water recycling tanks installed, the state of Darley Park is a disgrace

Re: Ballarat Football League

The state of all grounds is a concern. How is the marsh, sunbury and two melton grounds? North City, Redan and I'm not sure about the lakers won't have grounds early in the year. Where will darley play if there ground is seen as unfit?

sunburys ground is fine good grass cover a little hard under foot at the moment but should be no dramas come round 1

Re: Ballarat Football League

Maddingley park is magnificent and if there is one thing that the marsh have over the devils- its the ground. The Chief wants back on here straight away- he has theories on ground maintenance, local council, certain well-known identities and rumours throughout the whole Ballarat district. Please vote 1 for the Chief
I vote no.

I think Redan only has one match scheduled for the City Oval in the first few weeks, so hopefully there won't be many matches needed to be moved for Redan.
Eastern Oval is looking good from a distance.

Redan is the sleeping giant this year - apart from Feilds who else have they lost or picked up?

Re: Ballarat Football League

The poll was deleted because the mods feel threatened. They dont have the intellegence to outwit the chief so they shut him down to eliminate embarrassment. It doesnt matter to the Chief though, because as we mentioned earlier he has received confirmation from a local paper that he will be writing a weekly column featuring the Ballarat Football League and its results, facts and rumours. The chief is what all mods want to be- he is a love making machine that has acquired the love, attention and respect from footy goers from all accross the country. The chief is speaking this week to BFL footy broadcaster 3APL about presenting a long winded spiel about upcoming games every second week of the season.

Re: Ballarat Football League

The poll was deleted because the chief will not be coming back.

He has been permanently banned for threats of violence, personal attacks and other various rubbish.

Any more polls or posts asking for him to come back or whinging about moderation will result in holidays or bans.

Re: Ballarat Football League

Could become a quiet thread with the Darley posters locked away and with the Oracle getting a 6 month ban when the season begins.

Re: Ballarat Football League

Does anyone have more info on the new points system?
This was on the win news website:
BFL PLAYERSTHE BALLARAT FOOTBALL LEAGUE IS TRIALLING A NEW PLAYER POINTS SYSTEM FOR ITS 2009 SEASON TO ENSURE THE MORE AFFLUENT FOOTBALL CLUBS CAN'T BUY SUCCESS...

hopefully they will return have no doubt they will be back bigger and better than ever !
if not will be a very boring and dull thread indeed.
kings army i see all the moama boys are back at sunbury again along with sahlberg, with the quality of the young guys they have snared from the rdfl plus another former high profile player you would think they would be able to give it a fair crack this year?

The aim will be 2010 with Power. He needs the RDFL kids to have a year of BFL football and also needs to get a couple of good recruits at years end. His side this year will not be as good as 2007 and he could not win it then.

The points system has been around for a couple of years. I don't think it has been enforced though. Was brought in I believe to halt North City loading up on VFL listed players.
Each player is given a score depending on whether they are local, recruited from a higher league, years of service etc. Each club had to be under a certain score.
A player such as Urch would be 5 points, and a junior player or local would be 1 point. Darley have a fairly low score due to having a large number of juniors and long serving players. Can't remember what the maximum score allowed is.

As for a few other little remarks. Oracle the jerk, your little query into the rating of Souths. No one from the western block including themselves rate the lowlifes. There is a simple fact that they play a certain amount of games at the 15m round patch of grass they call home. Factor also into that a few wins against easy beats that are constantly present and a few wins over other intimidated sides then they make the top 6. You didn't ask how they would go come finals, most likely they just be someones ticket through to the next stage, but they will at least be there.

In other news, humour is no longer welcome in country footy and all aspects involved. To be honest though i'm not to unhappy with the denial of a return of the Chief. Allthough entertaining he doesn't always allow for a flowing forum as others are somewhat hesitant of rumour mongering with the justified fear of being unravelled and exposed. This isn't a democracy either, it is a dictatorship, as it should be in order to keep you unruly mob in check.

KA, who are you kidding saying Power will focus on 2010??? the prize hunting mini-man will do anything for trophies and that's an established fact. He once stood on a wedding cake to not only help out a mates decoration but to know the feeling of being a top the heap. Sunbury don't rebuild from scratch like other clubs are forced to, the lure back former players (cash of course), then come mid year they buy another few to try and win the big stuff. Just so happens last year that Libba bulked up on washed up pizza shop owners and underbelly aspirants instead of your Haami Williams type of the past. The little man standing on the wedding cake will not make the same mistake, he may look like a four year old but he's not ******ed. How long until they start rooting each others missus and having a little in-house fighting is the true question. After all there's a few casanova's strutting back into the love loft.

Cutting Jordan's, Little and Fleming's wages should be an indictation - these are 3 very good country footballers. Add them to a list that includes O'Connor, Powell, Whittle. Libba, Lekkas, Baird and Beatie - and replace them witrh RDFL players. The reason being is so elilte country footballers have signed a 2 year deal and cannot return until next year. That is why 2010 in the year they will make a run at it.
