Seedsfan doesn’t think he’ll make it and is a waste of time/resources.
The rest of us disagree and are prepared to give Roo some time.
How about we just leave it at that instead of all the, (now deleted) bickering.

wouldve been nice to see him dominating a bit more. Hopefully those hitout numbers double next game
I actually watched the match yesterday and by my reckoning he was on ground for probably 30 to 35% match time but when he was on you certainly knew he was out there.

He gets around the field quite well he is no big lumbering giant by any means if that was his 1st match I would be content with that,he has that natural aggression which comes in handy and you must have to succeed. From what I saw contested the centre bounce and then went forward. For a boy playing his 1st match against boys who have been weaned on football he did not look out of place and from what I saw he was only beaten to the tap once in his contests.

It is much to soon to put a line through him if anything I would be very encouraged by what I saw.

Agree, I like to have at least one of these project types on the go. Good for the overall environment of the club, doesn't cost much, you might get lucky and if you don't, no biggie.
It's fun. And if nothing else, this bloke looks capable of raising expectations in the gym.

Sorry mate, but actually watching players comes a distant a distant second to stat watchers on BigFooty!

Great to see him get a game. He’s actually in a better position than Cox was as his younger and has been able to play nab league. There’s so much more time for him to improve his skills in a professional environment. I love that clubs do this, remember we had Shae McNamarra before Mason so maybe it’s a 10% chance but why not.

We've also had a bunch of Irish kids that all turned out poorly

I think most of them were pretty good athletically.

Being able to use it effectively on-field however, is a different matter.
Tohill and Keane were nothing special athletically and weren’t big enough to play KPP roles or skillful enough to play as flankers. They were always up against it to find roles in the AFL side. For Faye there’s clear scope for him to play as a ruck or KPP. Whether he fulfils that scope is another question but he’s not comparable to our last bunch of Irishmen.

Having been in the UK and see Brits develop in the game you need to give players time. They can look terrible and then one day they can just click and be good players. Cox won us a prelim and a Perth final. Natanui the least natural AFL player I have seen does little around the ground but when he is on fire can be WCE best player just through tap work and tackling aggression. Rucks come in different types and it is a position that can be taught to an athlete. If they think he can make it I'd be giving this kid 2 years as a Cat B to see if he can improve to a level that can make him a player. We have Cox, Cameron, Grundy all with 3 years in them. This guy has time to be developed into a gun and if it works would be ripe to take over and if it doesnt nothing is lost.

Having Faye is a step into Western African nations, such as Senegal, millions of people, millions of opportunity. I say go for it. Ghana, Nigeria and beyond. What a great opportunity
