I saw him around the team at the open training session.
He wasn't in uniform but I can't remember if he was in club apparel or not.

Yeah it's strange, wasn't in the team photo, not on the player list that's on the website.
He's not on the list - I can't remember the terminology, but we've put him on a list outside the list that will give us the potential to add him to the list if he becomes good enough.

Because he is not Officially Yet.

He be playing for the Oakleigh Chargers this Season

He was supposed to last year until his visa and covid issues stuffed that up.

Not sure he would still qualify, even as an over-ager. So he may have to play VFL (if he is anywhere near good enough).

He does occasionally pop up in the background of some of the player taken footage on the club website. I noticed him on some of the stuff taken by Reef after the intraclub.

International Scholarship or International Rookie Scholarship.

Here are his details from last year's Oakleigh Chargers list:

If that DOB is correct he's only 18 1/2, and I'd imagine he should be allowed to play. This mob have the same DOB so it's probably correct:

Train him to play full back.

Show him Mal Michael's first few games . Couldn't get a kick but would fist it 20 to 30 metres every time

It's certainly interesting, here's a list of all the cat b rookies from the most recent rookie draft and every one of those players apart from Faye are their club's team list.

Ruck. Kpp as cat b is fool's gold, unless they're Aussies who were good juniors. Kpp most important skill is reading the ball flight, which doesn't transfer from most sports. There's nothing to suggest that will be a strength.

I love Wikipedia, and use it almost every day, but it's not totally reliable as a source of information! Among those 7 player names in the 'clip' you've included there are several errors. Moniz-Wakefield and Raak were not NGA players due to their being indigenous (as claimed); that should say multicultural. There's never been any suggestion that Bassirou Faye is on our "proper" list. I'd say the person who put that on Wikipedia jumped to conclusions after reading the story about our recruiting of him last year. He was picked up as an International Rookie Scholarship player, and is not on Collingwood's rookie/AFL list. Many players (from all over the world) have been on that "extra" list over the years. Most of them don't make it to the official rookie list, and are therefore not eligible to play at AFL level for the club that recruited them. While we all hope Faye turns into a player, to be fair his signing received far more publicity than it should have done!

I did notice Faye's name appeared in that Wikipedia article months ago, probably just after the rookie draft was held. The AFL's official publications, AFL Record Season Guide 2022 and AFL Record Season 2022, include the other 6 players on their club's official lists for 2022, but Faye's name is not there. Since those publications were released a few more names have been placed on lists, via the SSP (e.g. Patrick McCartin, Jack Hayes), but those players are Category A Rookies.

I hope he, at the least, appears on a footy card. So cool!
