Also looks bad when anything physical touches the grass/dirt/mudThe ground was a dirt race track for motox 3 weeks ago. Ground staff probably did their best. Looks bad on TV.

Just saw your comment on CricInfo.Be good if the commentators actually had the stones to just call this out.
Pressure was on because CC and Jennings batted with very little intelligence and didn't even tick the scoreboard over. I'd blame them more than Inglis there.
Surely this gets called off.
Gah that’s bad Josh
Is the emotional well being of everyone whose watching this garbage a issue of safetyThis won't call it off unless safety becomes an issue.
Carey would have hit it for 6.
Is it not common sense to not host a motorcross rally before some cricket games btw?
I think next year keep games in Geelong til mid January
Why?
Doesn't look like anyone out in the middle is raising questions
And TV standard lightsGeelong isn't a good venue either and has had some dodgy pitches, the Junction Oval has better pitches but lacks the capacity.
Then play all away games til January? Either way not sure why others need to suffer cos Renegades aren’t professionalGeelong isn't a good venue either and has had some dodgy pitches, the Junction Oval has better pitches but lacks the capacity.
I'm at the ground
Not once have the umpires come together for a discussion about things - in Geelong last year there was discussions, tonight they're getting on with things & playing the game
You know Bryce cotton doesn't play for the scorchers right?Said the other night, if the game at Geelong was against the Scorchers they’d have been demanding it be called off again.
Can’t have a pitch that doesn’t suit the precious little orange team.
That pitch was dangerousPeople will accuse me of defending the ground because it’s my AFL team’s home but it’s nothing to do with that it’s a cricket comment: that was a farcical decision to me last year.
Yes there was a spot on the pitch that was damp and was behaving different to other parts of the wicket, and one ball in particular behaved noticeably different to the others and how it should.
But it didn’t threaten the batsman’s safety and all it really did was beat the bat (by a lot) and look incredibly awkward. It reeked of ‘it’s too difficult for the batsman to actually find a solution to a difficult situation’ rather than ‘this is actually threatening anyone’s health.’
It’s like in these scenarios they forget that although people like T20 for the big hits and the fast scoring, it’s still a game that includes bowlers and where batsmen are tasked with finding answers to the questions bowlers pose to them.
This match should be viewed the same
