As a Scorchers fan, one can only hope Allen is saving his best till last.....though that would mean him being retained by the Scorchers for next years BBL....

He’s due for his 1 in 10 fluke soon

If Nick Hobson can replicate this form away from Perth Stadium, could he be a dark horse for the T20 national side?

Some of the cleanest hitting yesterday and he clearly knows the dimensions of the ground to a tee yesterday. It was just smart cricket shots. Noticed throughout innings he never power hit to the long sides of the boundary.

usual boys club that they keep picking underperformers like Stoinis and David.

Not likely plenty ahead but not saying he won’t get a chance bare in mind though these guys are helped massively by our silly surge rules that aren’t in international cricket (rightly so)

Good point . It’s one thing whacking players with the field up , and one thing whacking them with fielders out.

Saw a bit of Hobson in the recent Abu Dhabi T10 league and was struggling against a lot of the international level spinners over there.

At the moment he has to at least perform away from Perth Stadium. If I heard correctly Nick Hobson has also made the move full time as a cricketer , away from his role as an accountant - which will no doubt help his game.

Just think if Hobson can do this on away grounds in Australia on a consistent basis, there is no reason why he can’t overtake someone like a Tim David. Australia has always had that conundrum with power hitters in the middle order and late order.

The best late order power hitters in Australia have generally been bowling all rounders eg Michael Neser, Will Sutherlands, Ellis (showed he is no mug), Dwarshuis, Abbotts, Daniel Sam’s, Chris Greens

Not saying he should play for Aust but Hobson came in after the surge

Hobson is slowly reaching a level of reliability as a late order hitter but he’s had way more failures than he’s had innings like that. He’s improved a lot the last few years but still a way off from a national call up.
