Yeah cos finishing fourth and losing to the top team in Perth is always considered a choke by Bigfooty standards

A 3-9 record in finals suggests there were a number of other chokes as well
Yeah I thought they picked a more solid workmanlike side this year. Previous years they seemed to waste a lot of money on players it was obvious they’d lose to international duties.

Bare in mind a lot of the Stars “choking” has been when half their team wasn’t available in finals

The closest they've come was when they lost that unlosable final against the Renegades - they went from 0 for 93 to 7 for 112 in the space of a few overs.
Bowling is the weakest it’s been yet, but batting was more consistent. But losing Bairstow was a killer blow and then Hussain went home injured after 2 games and Rauf won’t be here till sometime next month and now NCN is injured.
Earlier in the thread someone mentioned Morris, yet he was the only non spinner that was fit left in the squad!
Just finished watching the replay from the start of the innings. Thunder very impressive. Have to think that the two Sydney sides are the sides to beat in this tournament.
In BBL: Big score on the board = team batting second generally falls in a heap. Only really good teams mange to chase down big targets. I thought the Stars would be good enough to go close, but once they lost a few wickets it was all over. This is really going to dent their NRR.

That’s just poor management. Stars have always seen themselves as silver tails. But can’t produce when it matters. Their culture has a lot to do with their lack of success. You have a lot of fog jams in that side.
