As opposed to Melbourne based supporters who only show up to any sporting event when their side is good. Definitely the most fair weather supporters in the country
Plus 40k the derby with both sides at the bottom of the table.

Without the draft you might as well not have a competition as there’s no way other teams can improve. Can’t have all the players being allowed to play for one side it would get boring very quickly. Can they improve the draft yes but is it is good concept yes. Just wish there was more explanation on the signing of guys outside the draft personally doing that inside the draft would be better
All the good players playing for one side? No one knew who Evans or Livingstone were before they played for Perth. Munro was a bit more well known but hardly a big name. That’s just good recruiting, whilst everyone else went after big names who were only around for half the season.

Takes the skill out of it when you can just poach guys that were good last season.

No one knew Lvingstone? Come off it there, that's a nice mayo statement, was always highly regarded back home. Evans I'll grant you, but you could have retained him you were given the option there, you went and got Allen and that's fine but that is your decision.

How about not recruiting Hurst types when you had Allen to keep? There's the issue. Could have gone and got another bat or an AR as you would have known Marsh would likely be unavailable for a lot

Go back to the derby last year that was played at Marvel - I know there would have been a bit of a boost due to Finch's retirement, but there was one 41k for two teams that weren't going to be playing finals

The draft has definitely ruined the comp. Bit more of a mercenary type import setup now whereas before it felt like they were part of the squad a bit more when you could line the same blokes up every year and they were a bit more part of the squad.

Retention pick helps a little but it’s not really the same when clubs can poach them without input from the existing club
The whole comp was designed as a mercenary comp from the start, Scorchers are the only side with decent retention which is probably why they had so much success

3/9 after the power play, and then 4/17 after the 7th over

131 from 78 balls required, one of our batsmen unlikely to come to the crease unless required due to a hamstring injury and the bulk of genuine big hitters back in the shed

I'm not how we did it, but we did
It's even more astounding given Perth's bowling lineup, particularly the pace attack is top quality.

As a Gades fan I'm more than happy with last night's result, but I can't understand why they didn't give either/both Behrendorff and Richardson a third over instead they turned to Kelly

They get another wicket and we're 5 or 6 down inside 5/6 overs, we don't win that

Seemed to scared to risk using up the overs from a strike bowler compared with putting the foot on the throat

Also don't get why Marsh didn't bowl when Kelly was being belted. Or is he finally going to admit he wasn't bowling fit to everyone like he's been saying all summer long

Sutherland is a proper Flintoff type isn't he. Would be keen to see how he develops in the near future. Can he get his batting or bowling good enough to be a red ball option?
I’m saying no at Red Ball but definitely should play a lot of white ball. Not a good enough bat

Can he get his bowling good enough to be a frontline bowler?? Loads of talent there just hope he can stay injury free. I can see him doing really well for us in the shorter forms. Would replace Stonis with him ASAP in our white ball sides.

The only thing disappointing for me was I tuned in hoping to watch a bit more of Cooper Connolly, but he was bowled 2nd ball. Based on what I've seen so far, I think there's a real future for the lad in all forms of the game, I would be interested to read other people's opinions. Australia is desperate for some genuine young talent.
