I mean, he did dominate shield cricket for a number of seasons so his selection wasn't exactly unwarranted. Giving a baggy green to the likes of Nic Maddinson, Joe Mennie and Michael Beer were more in line with your sentiments I feel

It must be difficult to expect someone at that level to maintain the level of diet and fitness of someone with access to the very best of equipment and advice.
