Ahead of Mac Wright to start the season possibly? I'd also have Hossain over Hatzoglou.

Does Choudhary bowl? If he does he could replace Hatz and slot in at 7 with Jordan at 8. Much better balance that way.
Hossein signed at the sixes.

Potential Strikers 11, not including Head (yet to sign) and Carey who will miss games due to international duties. Also assumes we sign Nielsen but either way we will need a keeper besides Carey as I don't think Pope will keep.

Matt Short
Darcy Short
Lynn
Ollie Pope
Weatherald
Nielsen or another keeper (yet to sign)
Fabian Allen
Overton
Thornton
Buckingham
Lloyd Pope

Other Squad members:
Carey (when available)
Head (when available - yet to sign)
Alex Ross
Cam Boyce
James Bazely
 Doggert
One free spot - maybe Kelly
Boyce should get games over Pope shouldn't he?

What would make the draft interesting is as they said, a real draft of all players.

Maybe a true draft with all spots on the list. Let the clubs contract 4-5 marquee players outside the cap. Then everyone else is up for draft, you could even set salaries based on the round they’re drafted. A real shake up of the competition is its only hope.

Now obviously the Perth fans would be up in arms because they’d lose their massive advantage, but the comps just got little interest elsewhere.

This is how the PSL, BPL, and MLC do their player selections

You'd have to weigh this up against the fact that the teams would feel even less like teams than they do now, if we introduced that level of list turnover. If 7 out of your 11 are changing every year, kinda makes it hard to establish cultures around teams, and overall interest would wane I reckon.

Scrap the draft but allow 4 or 5 international signings and 3 in the line up per game or even 4. Higher quality and bring the people in.

I’m sure if the teams were full of Stokes, Pooran, De Kock , Butler etc rather than the likes of Overton, Walter etc you might get more people invested to want to watch.

The overseas signings are relatively poor and instead of watching Australian players like Starc Head etc your stuck watching Manenti , Edwards and these guys that might be handy domestic players but your not going to want to tune in or go see them live.

These guys have all played in the BBL and there was no discernable difference in crowd numbers in the matches they played.

We had the best players in the World turn up in this country for a World Cup and the only people who really went to games were Indians for India matches. England v Afghanistan in that tournament would have had 8 of the best 20 players in the World playing in it and 8k people turned up to watch it on a Saturday Night.

Australians don't follow cricket outside Australia so they don't even know who the good players are. Even if they did they don't really care for cricketers who are not Australian. The biggest factor on BBL crowds is:

1. Timing of matches (must be in the 3 weeks after christmas when Australians like cricket).
2. Australian Test players playing.
3. Vibes.

People just set the bar to high for crowds. Outside the AFL most sports would love the BBL numbers. The Strikers average over 20,000 for example.

Outside a few key test match days the Cricket crowds are fairly low
